I have a donations page on indiegogo because I am moving to a new city to do volunteer service for the next 10 months. I just don't know how to get visitors there, unfortunately I don't have a close network that can give me a little push to start, any suggestions on how to get the word out there about my campaign?
craigslist, backpage and some other classifieds can be used to bring just the people you need. Post your ads in their community sections. You may want to consider http://www.kiva.org/ They have categories for people in your situation and they probably do more business than the site you're currently using.
Submit your web page to local directories, post classified ads, and sign up on forums related to your niche. You can also exchange links with local charities and organizations. Make sure you also use social media - it's a great way to promote your page to a target market.
Thank you, I looked into kiva after seeing your post, but I'm sort of in a time crunch so I don't think I have enough time to go through that application process. It is something I may look into at a later time business equity funding though.
Yes, I've been submitting to local adds the past few days and I have also been looking for forums related to this topic. I will continue to do that as well as exchange links with local charities and organizations. I don't have a large follower count on my social media accounts so it hasn't brought much traffic to my page but I will continue to put my page out there.
