Nice one if this is true, we love to hear how you make that amount of money. Ofcourse the secret is traffic so how did you get traffci to your site
Then maybe you cold elaborate for the rest of us as to if he is actually making these figures or if he is just hamming it up to get people to his "latest" blog, which essentially is just trying to flog a ebook. No offense Dave, but you have a lot of things working against you here if you are just trying to pull a promo stunt. Firstly you're doing it at DP, there are a lot of intelligent online marketers here that sense a stunt a mile away - mainly because they have probably dabbled in a little bit of their own stunt pulling before, . Then there is the issue of you haven't been here long, you joined in August, but lets face it you only have 40 posts and most of those are VERY recent. Next you don't really go a long way to backing yourself up with figures or anything. Sure your theory seem pretty sound from what I can tell - but it's know thing to know how to do it all it's another to start pulling in $XXX+/day. That and you are still using your free blogger URL - I mean domains just aren't that expensive. People that make $XXX,XXX on the internet buy domains before they even start the sites, and often they just buy domains because they "think" they might like to start a site, let alone have already established content for it and deisnged it. But this is the clincher for me, the fact that you claim to having earned $XXX,XXX over your time with AdSense yet are still willing to plug an AdSense ebook that you plan to sell of $20 a pop but is going to take weeks of time and effort. Now I find it hard to believe that that will be justified by even if you sell over 100 of the suckers, because if you are looking at it from an opportunity cost perspective, an AdSense "guru" would have the knowledge to turn around and invest a month of their time with another project and secure themselves a solid $XXXX/monthly income - that is recurring, not a once off like selling a product is. That said if you had a reach of say a Joel Comm (for incase you didn't know is considered by many to be the leading AdSense Ebook guy) and his marketing pals then by all means write an ebook and sell it for $20, because his mailing lists goes out to thousands upon thousands of inboxes, but some how I don't think you have cornered this market like he has because of your "Did you buy an adsense ebook/videos?" thread you also created. Sorry but I'm just not feeling this one - I think it's a promo stunt. But best of luck with the ebook.
That I cant do but I can say that his football blog is dated from 2005 and from the amount of posts and quality he is probably getting some good hits, plus the fact its a big topic in the UK and there is more than just Adsense on it. The stats he posted is probably for that blog and would fit the fact that he said 'hot news topic' i.e. a specific football team losing a match. I dont think he is just using blogger. If I am correct he has a full domain for a site that looks really good and the Adsense placement is really good. If he only has these two sites then I doubt he is making what he claims and is probably trying to drive promotion to make more funds....fair enough. Good writer all the same and I like his layouts.
I don't understand why people are so against using blogger for their blogs. The stats that I provided in here are for a blog that is actually hosted on blogger. It is very popular and I have no problem with hosting there at all and neither do the readers. Ocassionally I do grow the blogs out of the blogger platform and that is something that I may do with Make Me a Blogger. The ebook is sounding like less of a good idea but it wasn't going to be the same sort of thing you see people trying to flog. When someone purchases the ebook, they also get consultation from me. I would act as a mentor and could go into their site and tell them what they are doing wrong and how to put it right if they can't figure it out from the ebook. The $20 was a price I posted a long time ago, now I see it being more like $40-$50. The ebook is almost complete but as I said before, that is only going to be half of the deal I am offering here, it's my time that you are really paying for. Nobody complained when Darren Rowse did his blogging class for money. He's rich enough isn't he? Why start a class and charge? It's because time = money.
Darren Rouse is proud to reveal his URL, despite any fear of "ad click attacks" he might fear. Blogs are nothing to hide.
Mentoring is a major time investment - take it from me (I have "mentored" a couple of people in the last few months) it is almost always just a source of frustration. That is just my opinion, but in all seriousness I don't think I will ever offer my expertise to anyone again for less than like $100/hour - and it will be on a take it or leave it basis, as in a "take my advice or don't take my advice - it makes no difference to me" consultation. Now if you want to make some serious money out of consulting, or being a mentor for a number of people, then maybe what you should do is make them sign up for a subscription where they pay $20 a month for your expertise or something - that way it is on going income, but chances are they will cancel this subscription once they too develop expertise. Just an idea.
Hmmm you make $xxx, xxx and are going to waste time on an ebook that wont make anywhere close to that?? Of course the income claim is a precursor to the ebook..... Weird
I'm not wasting my time on an ebook. The ebook is the flagship to the consultation service so I can diverse myself alittle from just writing to blogs all the time.
That actually sounds like a good idea. From the comments I am hearing here, it seems to me that people believe that all ebooks are a scam? The subsciption service does sound good... Just thinking of ways it could work...
So you are looking to leave a business making 6 figures... to one where you have no proven ability or others peoples recommendations as to how good of a consultant you are?? And all this due to some success with one blog??? Makes sense to me..
I don't care whether this story is true or not but I can understand why people are questioning it. The main reason people are going to attack is because the title is pure linkbait. It looks like it's purposely ambiguous which straight away makes people lose trust in the author. But hey, I guess that's good marketing. I just want to know what steps were taken to build up the site traffic.. now that would be inspirational
Interesting story nice to see you’re making money with Adsense. Many stories like that in this forum
He didn't say anything about leaving his business of 6 figures. He did say DIVERSE though, which is a great idea...and DOES make a lot of sense. People who want to market anything online should take notes on this thread. This is a great example of viral marketing. Everyone is giving their +'s and -'s on the subject, but more importantly, their is a buzz going on here. You wanna know how he did it? Spend the measly $20-$50 and find out if you really want to know. Obviously, by showing his traffic stats, he knows a "little bit" about getting traffic to a site and converting clicks from adsense. If you don't want to know, then hey, there are plenty of other threads to read here.
No he didn't.... however if something works one would expand on it not dwelve into something they know little of and is uncharted territory. Someone writing a blog on soccer most likely is not business savvy or experienced enough to offer consulting to a variety of businesses. What works for a soccer blog does not indicate such would carry over to a tech blog or one on raising infants or any other field. How individual niches operate is important to understand before one can offer a whole package so to speak. For example I have many years of business management and online marketing experience and even played soccer for a while and won a state championship while in high school playing the sport. However that in no way makes me qualified to consult anyone on how to run a soccer blog.... understand? Obviously?? Here is obvious Go to Adwords Sign up to be an advertiser spend gadzooks of money drive traffic to site. Loss or profit it now appears you can drive traffic to a site... OK thats obvious.??? again there is very little proof offered just an image and those are always legit... correct??? Ahh and what a great response for my 2k post lol
So now your going to divulge your so called secret 6 figure income strategies for $20? LoL even if you got 30 clients and made $600 aren't you too busy making 100's of dollars a day bloging to waste your time for $600? It doesn't make sense from a business standpoint. What a joke
I use to buy ebooks from DP Members, just a couple of positive feedbacks from serious members. I suggest to give some free copies for evaluation to seasoned members to tell us if the ebook worth the money...just a thought
The football blog is probably the biggest yes, traffic wise. Last month that blog did quite well. There's been talk here about how I can transfer my skills from making a blog on football to other areas of the industry. I did an Internet Computing Degree at university and have been involved in many projects online ranging from message boards to marketing to web site design and then I came accross adsense and read as much as possible, experimented like a mad scientist and here I am now.
