Introducing LegalGlobal.com, an Attorney's Profile Directory

About three years ago I started a new business (Heritage Law Marketing LLC) to promote individual attorneys and small law firms online. Part of the business are a set of niche legal directories and majority of the time so far has been spent on building a solid script for them. LegalGlobal.com itself is an international attorney's profile directory and one of the more expensive domain names we acquired.

Here are some quick facts:

• Building the script took 1200+ hours of programming
• Script is a greatly customized version of phpLD mainly done by an0n, the directory programmer superman.
• Five digit price tag to get to where we are today
• Some of the features:
  • Homepage size: 134kb
  • Google site speed: 94/100
  • Bad ass interactive map page with on-page filtering
  • Weekly legal articles written by actual attorneys
  • A ton of neat Ajax stuff. Did I mention still under 134kb page size?
  • Dashboard allowing attorneys manage their listing(s)

The focus of this directory is going to be sending actual legal leads to lawyers. There'll certainly be SEO companies that will list their client's sites in the directory but our business plan is to send the lawyers 'real' leads. I'll write more posts in near future on how successful our different strategies regarding this goal end up to be.

Beautiful. Great job Nima. I think you have positioned yourself well in terms of business listings being a good focus (as opposed to just links), and the economy is going to improve in the next couple of years and all your hard work may have a splendid payoff!

Update: listed lawyers in LegalGlobal.com will receive monthly Google Analytics PDF reports of how their listing has performed during each month. The PDF report will be available to view in the Listing Management dashboard.

 

You have a typo in the header/logo of the site. "Premiun Legal Directory". I presume you meant "Premium", but the typo does not inspire confidence.

 

Nice catch. Pretty sure that is a new logo/header for this site, but nice job noticing.

Quick update on LegalGlobal.com..

For the past couple months I've improved the design (using CrazyEgg user tests and surveys), added more listings to the directory, and build relationships with few attorney marketing firms. • We've hired one part time attorney (from Houston, TX area) to mange publishing of four legal articles a month
• We now have over 110 individual attorneys listed in our directory.
