    Serious question: Do you guys ever believe Bing will catch up to Google.

    At this point when we refer to SEO, everyone is always referring to Google, with Bing never even being mentioned.

    What do you guys think?

    I don't think they will catch up in the near future but if you do proper SEO then you rank in Bing as well so you will get traffic of both.

    Google will always be the top dogs -- bing should try and differentiate themselves from standard search, without innovating, they won't stand a chance.

    Actually, it's now easier to rank Keywords and expect better SEO results from Bing as compared to Google due to Google's constantly changing search engine algorithm.

    This might make people focus their SEO on Bing rather than Google as they might get better results from there.

    I believe you, but even if it is true do you think searchers (not just SEOs) will turn to Bing? That's the real question.

    This is meaningless unless the mass population begins using Bing instead of Google.

    In regards to the OP's question - no, I can't see Bing overtaking Google.

    With the new bing ads they are way ahead of google for affiliate marketing. Only cents in the dollar and they allow direct backlinking

    In the upcoming years mobile traffic is going to take a huge part of the equation. If Bing can negotiate the major OEM's to put Bing as a default search engine, who knows?

    Mobile Traffic already is a large source of search engine use. Google owns android. Android is one of, if not the most used OS on mobile devices. Microsoft simply doesn't have the mobile user base to make Bing pass Google.

    I agree with theserp, that you can't say that Google will be the only giant of the future search. If Bing negotiate with big OEM's to put Bing as a default search engine than the future scenario will be something else.

    As long as Google is still in place,I don't think Bing will ever catch up unless they change their strategies and start offering something unique.
