Anyone been following PayPerPost and the TechCrunch thing? I took the PayPerPost opp the other day (not hiding the fact I was paid for it). The whole things blown up and traffic to my site has gone through the roof! :) It's bizarre.

Nice read on your blog there, but I don't think many others will get the exposure you did. Use it to your advantage.

You have a larger audience now, but only for a short time. Post something controversial or really interesting to get some of those visitors to want to return.

The ethical high ground? You disclosed that you were paid to post it. What is their beef?

I don't know. Until those that choose to take the moral high ground remove all forms of advertising from their own websites, I just don't know how I can take any of their arguements seriously.

I've been experiencing a surge in traffic since signing on with PPP as well. But no more adsense revenue unfortunately :(

I think its up to the individual blogger to determine if he or she will do paid posting. I personally would never post a paid advertising with a very clear full disclosure. This is why I have been using ReviewMe, they require full disclosure.

The PayPerPost model of not requiring full disclosure may get them in trouble soon. The FTC recently came out against this type of deceptive word of mouth marketing. For now I think PPP is loving the controversy because it gets them attention.
