Best place to sell this type of Domain?

    Hi there,

I am looking to sell my domain advertisingspecialists.net The only place I have tried so far is GoDaddy, but I didn't pay for any of the promotional extras and I set somewhat of a high starting price (I didn't even pay for the hidden reserve option).

Before I start investing a bit of money in promoting the sale of my domain, any advice as to which service (such as Sedo, Flippa etc) or forum (including this one of course) would be best suited to a domain such as this. Any advice on ballpark value estimates are of course also appreciated :).

    Cheers,
    Dan

It is a .net domain, so I'm afraid that you would not be able to sell with a good deal. The domain is long as well. Unless the domain has a good content, the price would be only $20-30 or even below. Since you are a premium member, you may post it on sell at the DP marketplace. You may join marketplaces on facebook and try to sell it there. I have been able to sell a lot of my domains at Bido. You may want to check it out! It is confusing for the beginner over there, but please feel free to PM me if you need help.

    Hi,

Thanks for your advice. Would you recommend DP market place over Sedo?

    Cheers,
    Dan

Yes, because Sedo is a marketplace for premium domains. If your domain is not a premium one, you would hardly get anything from Sedo. The minimum commission is $50. Also, you may want to try Bido. You could sell a domain there as low as $1 if you want to!

It's a functional domain because it addresses a specific market. You could try and offer it to the owners of the .com (which does not seem to be active) or the .org may be a better target (because it is an active website).

Are you the writer of "How I Sold A CRAZY Domain Name For $4400"? I have read your booklet before, and it's very inspiring! May I PM you about some questions that I want to ask?

Interesting idea Lavonta. If you were interested I'd be willing to offer a very decent commission if you can get a four figure price...

Meanwhile I'm about to read your ebook :)

I cold call a lot to get clients for my web design and marketing business and am going to be starting a blog on the topic, I'm wondering if calling up the owners of interested parties would be more effective, what do you think?
