Chitka waste of webspace

Chitka is a waste of webspace. From several sites some targeted better than others.
    For example the past week:

    14705 impressions 2 clicks.

Im staying with them for sure...

Any ideas how I would improve this, and is it even worth the effort? To me a few cents here and there is throwaway change.

as with all advertising, it's all about testing, optimizing, and testing some more.

if you've done the above and it seems hopeless, ditch it and work with something else. it's not for every site. different advertising platforms work better for different sites.

it tends to work very, very well on datafeed driven affiliate sites actually

That many impressions and only 2 clicks, that sucks. I get that many clicks from about 300 impressions.

What kind of site do you have it on? Chitika doesn't do well on every site. Start optimizing those ads or try them on a different site. I tried Chitika on my joke site and needless to say it sucked. I tried it on a different niche site and it works!

I have had similar results with Chitika, but I am not ready to ditch this program just yet. Some changes I am planning for my site early next year should bring the numbers up considerably, perhaps your site needs a similar overhaul to achieve respectable results.

    Hey Guys.

I tried it on a few different sites. At least on my consumer product related sites it should have been 2-5%. :(

I would rather use the tools I have working that try to fix something that is broke or just plain aren't that great as ads.

Hmm... not sure what you mean. Can you please explain?
Affiliate sites? I would rather make the affiliate link commission than the paltry 10 cents they are throwing at me. lol

It is one of the newer schemes out there. Some people seem to have better luck with the ads particularly when they are tied in with precise content. For example, an article about face creams and the relevant Chitika ad/picture matching the content.

:) that sounds good, although I know there are ways to program your keywords into Chitka so a page on Face creams will put face cream into the chitka ad, helping it show face cream ads.

I have done this and I don't see much of a difference.

I think your earning from Chitika will depend upon how well you are able to optimize your site. I tried my best, but even with hundreds of impressions it just won't get any click.
The main issue with Chitika for me was that they don't have products that my blog is about. For now I am just testing the Chitika's Clouds service.

Yeah, that is unaudited, but auditing takes away roughly 15% for me per month, so it's still going to be 2 dollars for 330 views. I have the ads targeted very specially though only in the reviews section.

    Chikita rocks when done right

For every 100 impressions I get 14 clicks and earn $0.25 per click

    Heres the site

    http://www.ipoddropship.com/

    hope this helps...

Chitika can be really good if used correctly IMO.

It's all about how targetted your audience are to the products that Chitika are offering and never forget about the good old placement of the advertisement.

Great ideas here I see from most....

0.25 cents a click is not too shabby..with 14% clickthrough

Yeah I guess for Ipods and similar products there is high click rate. For others I am not so sure...

You know with a talented designer you could make relevant ads that look like Chikitas and direct to another site.

I was just thinking I could send them to http://www.ipod-nano.ws since if they click the Chikita ad they are in the comparison mind headed to buy mind, pushing to my other site would help perhaps convert Amazon better.
