I have secured two domain names with media temple, i'm looking to create a forum on a paticular niche im familiar with but im not sure which domain i should use. The domain names are: pixelartistic.com pixelcreative.co Let me know what you think, thanks in advance Kurtis
Could you explain why? I found this marketing website that helps with .co companies go.co i think it is
Well .com, .net and .org are still among the most popular extensions. SEO industry too favors .com compared to .co or any other extension unless you are targeting a specific country.
What is that supposed to mean? Optimizing something for mobile is all about how to code it, not the TLD..
.com is more universal. everyone in the world is more familiar with .com and some may think that .com is more trusted.
If your website gets popular enough that people will type in the name to find you, they will always default to typing in .com For any serious US or international company the .com is a clear winner.
If you manage to acquire PixelCreative.com - I'd say that'd be a pretty nice domain name. Otherwise, PixelArtistic.com, IMO, is better than PixelCreative.co.
The day you want to sell it, for sure you will get more price for .com than for .co Also, google favors .com domains and the amount of time and money spent over seo and marketing will increase for a .co domains. .co is better for short domain names(<4) since its .com counterpart will cost more than $XXXXX
I prefer pixelcreative. It has a nice ring to it. But I'd rather it be a .com. If you can't have pixelcreative.com then I guess pixelartistic.com is not so bad. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
Exactly, it has nothing to do with SEO, but visitors/audience, word-of-mouth marketing. A .com or for a local site then that country's ccTLD. However, if you just want to churn out a site where you don't care about type-ins, word of mouth and similar (such as an "informational" site with Adsense, Amazon or whatever), then go for .smellymonkeys if you want.
Lol, domain extensions have absolutely no bearing on whether the site can be optimized for mobile devices or not, this all depends on whether the site layout has been coded as responsive or if the site has a dedicated mobile site. Anyway back on topic... .com is the king of extensions and is always going to be the number one choice. That being said I prefer the name PixelCreative and a few big companies are using the .co domain extension, take Vine.co for example
.COM, it's a no brainer If you want a good keyword domain which is not available in the .com I would first search for the .net, .info or .org equivalent Here is a suggestion for you: PIXELFORUM.ORG (still available for regfee at the moment of this writing)
