In my opinion whenever i see that generic squeeze page, with red borders, red text and that "instant access" image with "only xx copies left" i INSTANTLY think "SCAM, move along". Is this the general opinion or is it just me?
The Conversion rates for those squeeze pages are just very low, like 10% - 15%, 20% tops. Squeeze pages have moved on to cleaner websites that attract more attention or invoke certain emotions like curiosity or strong agreement. other pages are just really simple. That's the new generation of squeeze pages. Eg. http://www.onlinebizexplosion.com (Example of a video squeeze page)
It still feels like a squeeze page, why don't people do more like this(not saying this is the best example): AffiliateStoreScript.com it looks clean, nice and beautiful.
It's your squeeze page, not a blog. It's purpose is to encourage people to sign up. You want to increase conversion rates instead of wasting the traffic that comes to your site right?
That's actually true, many squeeze pages look like such a scam its not even funny, and especially when you try to leave and all these pop ups come up trying to prevent you from making a quick exit.
Your squeeze page might not work for google.com, but oh boy how it converts in google.ro or google.bg for example. I have found that if you want to make it in less spoken languages, use strategies that worked best for google.com a few years ago
Well if squeeze page look similar with thousends other, you can expect good results. The factors are design, what words and sentences are used; are there elements of scarcity, story, testimonials, videos. These are factors you need to test! I think that creation of a squeeze page is a dynamic process.
My squeeze pages convert at a rate of 10-40% depending on traffic source and geo targeting I am about to launch a dating one
Hate to tell you, but SEO for a squeeze page is like putting training wheels on an Indy 500 car... Just don't belong. Google will *NEVER* index a landing page high enough to get you any traffic WHATSOEVER... and why would they? You could have the most highly relevant content of all for your keywords - BUT GOOGLE WILL NEVER KNOW THAT. A landing page by it's very nature is designed only to get an email address... You should be tracking... and if that page isn't getting a 40% or higher signup - then it's failing in it's purpose. One of my landing pages hit 55% opt-in rate recently... so this is the sort of performance you should be getting. If you want SEO - put up a blog and SEO it all you want, then have a popup to get people to sign up. But SEO'ing a landing page is a complete waste of time. How many landing pages have *YOU* landed on from a Google search?
Yes many people use squeeze pages -- because they are so powerful in capturing a person's email address. As to the question above -- I agree 100% that having too many words or distractions on a squeeze page eliminates the one purpose it is created for which is to capture the person's email address. The best way to do this is Offer a free gift with so much value, that you would usually pay money for it. Have a benefit driven headline capturing your reader's attention Have around 3 bullets point highlighting important parts of your report Have a opt in box above the fold -- with a STRONG call to action to sign up. Some people have found a simple white background to work -- while others prefer ones like this: http://thealkalinediet.org/fruitboardsqexit/ You can try out different ones -- but usually simpler is always better when it comes to squeeze pages.
It was from a solo ad purchase. I frequently purchase solo ads. A solo ad has a definite edge over PPC traffic - because the person who sent you to my landing page is someone whom you've been opening and reading their emails... you must have at least some small amount of trust in such a person... so when he recommends and provides a link to my landing page, a visitor arrives with a greater chance of reading and responding... PPC traffic can certainly work with some offers - mine aren't tailored to PPC traffic.
I've never been a huge fan of squeeze pages. Luckily, most of my clients don't ask me to write those. At the risk of going on a rant, I'm really getting sick of light boxes. They somehow manage to pop up at the most inopportune time. Anybody have some statistics on conversion rates just for light boxes?
Yup i totally agree with you. SEO is not for squeeze pages. Glad at least some people still understand that while we Internet Marketers try to find new ways to attract people and INCREASE conversation rates, The old rules and logic are still very much important and will still govern the paths to success.
