Beckham is a soft southern ponce with a girls voice and Alex Ferguson is a miserable egotistical scottish twat, You may have noticed i'm not a fan of either of them, mainly because of their association to Man Utd.

ROFL...typical Man Utd fan...lives nowhere near Manchester and probably never ever been there...
Didn't say he was a bad manager, you asked "What comes in your mind when you here the names of these two giants of the Soccer?"
I replied with exactly what comes to mind when i hear their names..

Manchester Utd the only team that can get away with cheating their way to anything they've ever won..ever heard of "Fergie time"

It's the "extra" time that gets added to the end of all man utd games if they happen to be losing, it ends when they eventually score a goal, i think 7 minutes is the longest when Man Utd played Sheffield Wednesday and the score was 1-1 after 90 minutes, during which Steve Bruce scored for Man Utd, and they won the league.:(

Both have done a lot for English football of course but I don't understand the obsession with Alex Ferguson. It seems any of his players are under-credited as he receives credit for everything. He's just an old bloke who managed a great team, that's all. There's nothing special about him other than the fact that in a few years he'll be disgraced when everything about his bribery of officials comes out.

When Sir Alex Ferguson comes in my mind I think of a great coach, a great figure of all history of soccer that will be remembered not only for our generation, but for future generations too. It's a legend! Not only him, but David Beckham too, which was an inspiration to all of us children of that time to become one like him.

So is that what you people call Beckham a legend give me a break apart from selling t-shirts and scoring free kicks he's as average player as them come. I really don't understand the obsession with the guy

I hate both but if I will have to choose I guess the Alexa get my vote

Beckham should have been a girl (there is no denying he had skills, but for so many reasons he reminds me of a woman, in particular his inability to remain focused [on playing football]). I have a lot of respect for Fergie. He has achieved a lot, was a great people manager (he knew when to get rid of players :p) and put together some great teams. I am sure even the most passionate of fans can appreciate Fergie, when there in one of their rare moments of objectivity (short-lived, I'm sure, and quickly replaced by fierce rivalry!).

(A disclaimer for malky66: I have visited Manchester and what sticks in my memory the most was the dog poo all around the city centre. :p Not that all the above means I'm a Man Utd fan anyway. :p More of a football fan.)

You pointed out a pretty different quality of Fergie. When to get rid of players. Quite interesting, well any example of such quality?

Fergeuson got credit due to his leadership qualities. Many Man U players left the club and purchased by others but really could not create the same impact as they did under Fergie

May be you are right, he got the fame mainly due to his looks. Well, whatever, he is a living legend now and will always be.

Are you joking? Look at their transfer history and read up on transfers out of big name players.

err...yes, and anyone that denies it is an idiot (or a Man Utd fan (same thing in my eyes))

you also need to learn to multi-quote your replies into a single post, it might save you from getting a "running up post count" warning...;)
ROFL...Ryan...you shouldn't talk about Man Utd fans like that..
