Not sure if placements abide by policy

Hello, recently my ad serving was disabled because of ad overlapping aswell as bad placements to one of my sites, luckaly the person who saw my appeal was human enough to bring back ad serving and now I really need to be careful.

I want to ask if adding an ad to the homepage between the navigation menu and first post is allowed? As an example I will show you AndroidPolice's placement:

As you can see the ad is between the navigation menu and the first post, it seems to have been that way for ages and they don't seem to have a problem with it.

Hope someone from here can answer, thanks.

no mate there is not issue you can put this via parse adsense coding because adsense allow parse only if you not changes adsense code but you can do parse code so this placement is ok but you never use your adsense code in pop up or pop under

Thank you for your reply. From reading a post on Google Product forums before, someone with a huge level in the Adsense boards told an user that parsing the code is not allowed.

So am I allowed for instance to parse the code (obviously without modifying anything inside it at all other than converting it to work with my xml template) and place it let's say at the end of my post?

Also what does in pop up or pop under mean?

mate you can put adsense code and parse but yes sure you dont need to change anything many blogger and wordpress sites doing this method and working fine there is no issue because we did not change code just parse the adsense code which is allow pop up mean with small window appear when website is open and pop under mean when you scroll down a small pop also going down as scroll i hope you understand these pop ups not allowed

Awesome, thanks for the asnwers. My CTR was huge when the ad was inside the post, but it was below the title and for that Adsense disabled ad serving, now by just using the Blogger widgets on sidebars, it's really bad.

So obviously inserting an ad below the post title can be misleading to the reader, but what about placing it at the end of the post (talking about having the ad inside the post, but after the content ends)?
