Hello, I have a website for job seekers in London and i rented a forum poster to get candidates. It didn't bring yet any visitors. I wonder if forum posting to advertise my website is the best solution. What do you think ? Regards Frank
Start building links to your site by posting on forums and blogs for people looking for jobs. Post some free classified ads on craiglist, a lot of people go on there to find jobs and stuff. This might be the best way.
hello gkuang, But do i have the permission to promote my website on craiglist, does craiglist have a job category as well ? Regards Frank
Hi Frank Besides renting a forum poster, have you tried becoming a part of those forums? Increased interaction between forum members and answering some job-seekers questions may yield you better results. Once people start to trust what you are saying and see the value in your posts, then naturally, when you may new posts, you would get unique and targeted traffic.
Hello Lim, I know that but i can't find the right person to do that for me. I rented someone on getafreelancer but he only posted new threads to some forums and not related with jobs !! Regards Frank
You can call me Howard. Have you ever considered doing the forum-ing yourself? It is your personality and your ideals that will attract people to believe in you and your service. Sometimes getting someone else to do the things only we can do, would only make things worse.
I agree with you Howard. I should take time to do it myself but i don't have to much time. The other problem if i finally find a good forum poster is how to monetise my website. In fact i wish to monetise the website to pay the forum poster and to earn money. I putted adsense, and some affiliates advertissement. I thought about make paying the recruiters to place ads on my website like for example 1£ by paypal. I looking for new ideas to monetise it. Regards Frank
My suggestion is to build up the traffic to your website first, and put in a members corner or a opt-in box on the right where members can get better benefits and value from your website. After your website has sufficient visitors, you can start sell ads in your website to generate some income. Like i say to others, sometimes don't keep paying for things. But instead, try to do it yourself and get the hang of it. For example, try doing the forum-ing yourself. You may get some unexpected surprises and you may even be able to gather feedback from your visitors through forums that you are active in.
Frank, I owned a job website in the past and the best traffic I found was on craigslist (it was a couple years back). Try to post ads in the resume section in London and maybe it will even allow you to post in other cities. Also try backpage, olx.
Well, it seems to be a good idea, first your website must have lots of jobs positions so you can target as much as you can of job seekers. Keep in mind that your website will not be focusing on online jobs, so making some flyers, and distributing them would help.
I suppose you're thinking about paid advertising! Try to find the most popular forum in that niche (job finding or online jobs). Then see if that forum provides advertising on their site like DP is doing here! Wish you luck!
Yup. Looking for blogs in your niche and leaving comments and interacting with members can also help to bring some good targeted traffic. You could consider buying ad space from them too. (If you have the budget.) As long as it can bring in traffic, its a good method. It just depends whether it takes longer or short time to achieve.
