I just found out Woocommerce is very easy to use. I'm just testing it out now, though.

This depends entirely on what it is you need to accomplish. Unless its to simply make a post, do let us know and someone will advise you accordingly.

I like using Wordpress as there are million of extensions and themes that can be used to enhance your ecommerce website. I especially like the Woocommerce theme which in my eyes is the best theme to use for Wordpress, it has several useful extensions however these cost and it can easily add up. Other Wordpress ecommerce themes that are good are WP E-commerce and Shopperpress but Woocommerce is the superior to these.

I've had experience with Bigcommerce and found it to be very good. Lots of functionality built-in plus it's SEO friendly.

I support @Magento Expert! I am usign Magento with several add-ons. The platform is stable. Till now, I have never had any problems while using it. It is easy-to-understand with lots of options built in the core version. Additionally, it is the best software for marketing! You can easily set up a discounts for single product, product group or discount within certain period of time, for example, Christmas.
I could not forget about writing smth about Magento's SEO!!! No doubt, your website will be easily found by Google.
If you are about to open an Ecommerce website, I strongly recommend starting with Magento!

Shopify's platform is not free and open-source! You MUST pay monthly subscriptions in order to use their platform. It is always best to use open-source codes instead of purchasing their substitutes.
Additionally, Shopify applies transaction fees!!! So, it is up to you to decide which platform you could use, what would be the price of your products - it is very important because the competition is very harsh.

Of course, there are no additional fees! For $125/monthly, you pay your fees triple times :)

wordpress is better with Woo commerce plugin. Everything is under the woo commerce plugin so you don't need to become more stress with your website when you launching some new products to website indeed, :D

I personally use Drupal/Ubercart/CiviCRM - The three combined give you a great ecommerce platform as well as roles/permissions setup that allow for end to end prospect management. It is also good if you want to set up a membership site (as many levels as you want) without premium plugins (as most would suggest for Wordpress. Drupal has a little higher learning curve than Wp. CiviCRM also has a WP option, but not all of the way integrated. The only drawback I would see to using Drupal FOR ALL of your www needs is a less than optimal video integration with Drupal 7. Drupoal 6 is satble, but support is ending. I will be happy when video options are more stable for 7, then I can say it is 100% not lacking.

Spoken by a long time WP user.

To play devil's advocate, Wordpress would be best with an ecommerce plugin if all you want is a blog and a way to sell something.
