Hi everyone, I have a blog full of high quality content, but I get a really high bounce rate of around 90% even though the search terms people are using to get to the site are super relevant to my content. In your opinion, what would help to drill down the bounce rate on the site please? how2caravan [dot] com Thanks, Josh
Give them something to do on your site. Put in a drop-down menu of something... give them a list of similar posts... put related videos on your site... particularly good if the video actually leads to a different page before playing... Anything you can do to entice your visitor to click something on your page that leads anywhere else on your site will do the trick. Make sure your content is in small, easily digestible chunks... (Oops, you got this covered...) Use more bold, underline, background color - break it up a little. Check your website speed, if it's not quick, that will encourage a high bounce rate. There are sites online that will time your website. Here's a few specific recommendations: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/cTpxe5/www.how2caravan.com/ (click on the 'Performance Grade' tab)
Hi, Providing the relevant high quality content will help visitors to stay on your site and thus helps decrease the bounce rate.
A video is an awesome idea, like you said, an image they click that looks like a video and takes them to another page where I could introduce the website. I personally believe that the header is pretty dull and boring and needs making deeper with some interesting images etc. Thanks for your help guys
Your website looks good but not having the unique content i.e main problem. A lot of gadgets website are already there. It is difficult to catch new user which is already join with other gadget website.
The main issue here is making sure that they have something to do on your site. Depending on the type of niche you are in, I would suggest offering them something for free that requires them to fill in their details to get it, like a free eBook on how to get free traffic. That should keep them active on your site for a while. I hope this helps.
Improvise your website's content by providing valid and catchy quality content. Try out involving users through interesting videos, make some changes in the header section which currently presents very low quality design. Include few gadgets and allow viewers to share your content in social media sites.
you are right dear putting free e_ book will make them interesting &there are more programs convert files from text or php to pdf
to decrease bounce rate there are some important points you must follow dear; 1_related posts use (yet another related posts) plugin 2_use internal links seriously 3_put after you writing you content unique question to know you visitors opinion 4_content is the king have a nice day
Focus more on keyword research. Add more content and share your posts on social networks. Set up a fan page on Facebook and connect with your prospects. Put some videos on your site.
It's helpful, sometimes, to check out your closest competitors to understand what needs to be done to have a website that gets visitors' attention. I've found a couple websites, that I think will help you see what makes them stand out: http://www.caravantalk.co.uk/ http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/helpandadvice/gettingstarted/newtocaravans/ You need to make your main page look less like a blog and more like a fun, graphically appealing to the eye website.
