Why won't Europe do anything about The Sudan?

What's Europe waiting for? The US to take the lead? In the meantime, it's already become the worst slaughter of civilians since Europe ignored what happened in Rwanda.

I don't know, but it might be because many European countries don't develop military weapons so they don't have the to need to get into wars to get rid of them. For us wars are generally worth avoiding because theirs no money to be made.

Europe mostly talks; seldom walks. Very interesting to see the pleas from some quarters regarding Darfur. Yes, I think something should be done, but I believe that someone other than the USA should take the lead for once.

Yeah I guess Sundan will have to wait for the US to pull out of Iraq. The British and Dutch are the only two Euro nations in combat.

The French and Germans have troops in the north doing nothing because their respective gouvernments don't want to send the troops into danger.

Maybe Switzerland or Finland can do somehing about Sudan.

Oh well its not like this is the first time the world ignored africa.

I would love to see the world quit treating Africa like a helpless poverty child. I am not saying that poverty isn't rampant, but most of the larger governments there have the wherewithal to do something in Darfur, but are too crooked themselves to bother.

Maybe if Europe financed South African intervention, something would get done.

I guess we can't be surprised that Europe isn't doing anything. They couldn't even be arsed to stop the Serbs in Bosnia, and for that they'd only have had to move troops a few hundred miles. Of course they don't see any contradiction between their inaction in every single genocide since WW2, and their loud talk when they disagree with something the USA is doing.

BTW, when I say Europe, I don't mean the UK. Mostly speaking of France and Germany and the minor big-mouthed nations.

Amen, to THAT Peter. The U.K. would probably be hesitant to act if Tony Blair didn't have the kahunas to do something.

I would love to see the U.S. scale down our troops in Europe to virtually nothing. Guess whose 10% unemployment rate would surge if we did that? Answer: Germany.

Europe is just turning into one giant bend-over region. Domestically being eaten-up.

The whole idea of helping Africans when they barely have a military force in the region...is not really that plausible.

Concerning Europe and Africa, you can pin much of the current problems in the world today to the colonial powers who occupied then left Africa, the Middle East, and Asia with much of the problems today. Arbitrary borders, plundered economies, rampant corruption...maybe much of Europe is under a guilt complex and they would simply prefer to ignore the situation or have the USA deal with it. With the latter, they can then blame the USA if things don't go rosy.

Well, Europe is truly pathetic. They'll sell Israel out in moment as they side with terrorists who are undermining their respective countries already by way of mullahs and imans who plot against them.

Unfortunately, there are enough people in America who agree with Europeans elitists and may very well do the same.

Sometimes I think it would have been better to let Hitler nazi's and the Communist Russians fight a bit more.

I always thought the philosophical retardation would die...but the truth is, it just goes from one region to the next. First it's both Europe and Russia....then it's Russia, and now Europe and Russia have a half-ass existance. This is part of the reason why I think 'white supremacy' is a stupid idea...because the best of the Enlightenment went to America.

Now even America is been infected by these loose-minded philosophies. It seems we can't get away from old-europe.

I don't understand how you can be so optimistic about humanity, especially governments. What about the Congo, 3.8 million people died from 1998-2004 yet nothing is even said or mentioned and most of the deaths are preventable from just loss of clean water and food.

Europe has no excuse, it is just human nature to be greedy.

    People are SHIT! Remember that.

Everyone's waiting for the slaughter to end (when everyone's dead) then we can all send envoys over to survey the decimation and documentaries will be made and we'll all say "Ooooh that was so terrible. Lets make sure that never happens again."

Then it'll happen again and our governments will all stand around saying "Hey, you should really do something about that."

Indeed. No massive destruction followed by Haliburton style "no bid" contracts for rebuilding. No nothing.

Most of the world ignores Africas problems these days.
