Appraisal - A Wordpress Plugins Site

    Hi,

This is more a site, domains and "plugins" appraisal than just a domain, so it might not be the type many are familiar with doing.

It's for a site and plugins I just don't have time for - wp plugins dev (dot) com - and rather than letting them continue to rot, I would rather sell them on.

Since I bought it, I haven't had much time for sorting out the plugins or updating the site. I did fix some issues with two of the plugins (including removing the sitewide links). I started to update the site (removed the old posts and created new ones, updated Wordpress and plugins, got a logo made but haven't got beyond the standard Wordpress theme). In total, there are six plugins, but one's for BuddyPress, so I don't count it. I was considering monetizing through sponsorship, but it would require spending time I just don't have at the moment. (Although someone who has experience with Wordpress plugins might have a better idea for making money from it.)

Any ideas on what it's worth? If anything?

To add extra value, I was going to customise the theme, but before I do that I would like an idea if it's worthwhile or completely worthless and always will be.

Does no one really have any idea if it's worth above (or even below) reg fee? (As a site and plugins, not just a domain.) Either as-is or with a bit of development (in terms of theme and marketing). (Ideally both.)

I have a figure in mind, but I might be way off (in either direction) with it. :D

You have good site for WordPress plugin developer.
A really nice domain to discuss about WordPress plugins. It would be great to start contributing on each plugins by testing and explaining each line of code to the reader. A very hard job but it will make the site gain more exposure and trust.
Definitely good site for a someone who really curious about WordPress plugins.

The combination between WP (Wordpress) - PLUGINS and DEV (Developer) are very unique.
I think you should develop this blog by posting about your plugins (and all plugins - if possible).

A premium domain for special buyer. Selling it may be hard because not all people able to develop blog about WordPress plugins.

    Don't sell it.

    Hi mate,

Thanks for your feedback. I wish I had the time to develop it further, but I've owned it for about a year and have only had time to fix two plugins so far. Rather than let it rot, it seems better to move on the site and plugins to someone who is interested in it developing things further.

Your idea about this direction (a site explaining about plugins and development) is an interesting one. I think it's the right direction for the site.

    Code (markup):
Create at least 20 main category. Each main category has at least 1-5 new category. Each sub categories have their own another sub categories as well. Look at the illustration above.

There are category (look above) to:
    1. Discuss WordPress plugins.
    2. Building and developing WordPress blog.
Good category to offer service for individual, institutions and corporation that trying to build WordPress site.
    3. Developing and selling theme.
Create free theme with attribution or selling our professional theme. If everything fails, try affiliate to sell WordPress theme from well-respected developer.
Each category should have their own description (modify and use category description just like regular post). Each day 1 post in every category. Definitely a really hard work.:D

I prefer teaching 16 hours each day rather than creating 1 post in every category. Imagine, how much resources to read and how much times to write every posts.:p
Once the mission finished. Few dollars from advertising should flowing steadily.
Hmm, it was so easy to imagine. It wouldn't so easy in reality.:D

Happy developing your site. A very good domain which has great potential.

    Edit:
    1. Developing your site wasn't easy but it has great possibility for advertising and affiliation. :)
    2. I imagine anyone whom buying your domain would be smiling in the end.
    3. Develop or Sell it. Both has no negative impact for you.
Leaving it as is seem not bad idea. The price will be higher once a someone realize the potential.

An awesome idea, but a mammoth amount of work. I'm trying to trim down my portfolio, not bloat it up. :p

But these are great ideas, thanks, for if I keep the site or sell it on (it will help me market it). Decisions, decisions.

I will develop it further and then sell. Thank you for all the inspiration, I will develop the site further in terms of content and diversify the traffic (right now it's just through referrals - about 400/month - and mainly from Wordpress.org).

My suggestion. Sell it for a reasonable price. Right now the site is useless.(This site to make it work needs a lot of time.)
Good domain, a LOT of potential.
If you want to sell it over $100, try adding a theme, organize it better, make it look more professional and im sure you are going to get good offers.

If you decide to sell it, send me a pm.

    Thanks,
    best of luck

Yeah, it [the domain] seems quite OK. :)

I am working on improving the theme at the moment (and working one some more content). I just understood from that person's post that most of their post was constructed for the benefit of a lowball offer.

I am not sure you are still looking for advice, but picking a few premium plugins that have affiliate programs and having some tutorials and information written about each of them could bring in some money for you with that domain, plus some focused content. Start with two or three premium plugins like Gravity Forms and others.
