I have known that Sedo is probably the best marketplace to sell the domains, but it seems to me that very few people would see your domains unless you pay for featured listings. Most of my domains that got sold were "featured domains." Some were sold at $60, meaning I didn't get anything from the sale. The minimum commission that Sedo would get is $10, so I got only $10! Someone told me that: "Never pay for featured listings!" However, I don't know how I could sell without paying. So, I just wonder what your techniques are. Please share with us if you don't mind. If you think that it is ok to pay for featured listings, would you pay for Sedo USA, Sedo UK, or what?
My technique was moving away because I tried to sell domains at SEDO for about a decade and it was only waste of time in my case. Actually Bodis, backed by Namepros, seems to be a better price to make money selling, buying, or parking domain names.
Thank you very much for your comment. I haven't joined Bodis yet, but I think I would do it now! Anyway, have you posted some domains for sale on Namepros? I see that I could post only two threads on the auction forum, and I have hundreds of domains that I want to post. =(
I've had better luck with Afternic over the past couple of years. If you join their premium promotion program your domains are promoted on all their partner sites which include most of the big registrars. Better for reaching end-users who tend to pay more.
Would you mind sharing with us how to join the premium promotion program at Afternic? I tried to sell many domains there, but I didn't sell any of them.
Include a link to the Sedo page when emailing end users about the domain. Find relevant businesses, email them and include a link to the Sedo page. You may get a Buy it now or an Offer to start an auction if the price is right. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend spending money on Featured Listings or anything - those probably won't drive bids unless it's a great domain like an LLL.com or good Dictionary .COM Good Luck!
Thank you for sharing your insight! I used to pay a lot of money on feature listings, and a few domains got sold there. However, most of them got sold less than $100, and some were as low as $60!
