Hi CreativeWebMaster. I'm from India and if I can tell you anything from the market trend, it is that the names that are popular right now are just random, made up names that make no sense at all. Take - Jabong for example. Jabon is the Spanish word for soap. How can you relate it to a fashion store? Myntra - I don't know what it means but it sounds a lot like Mantra. So go with just any random, made up word that you can think of. Just one tip though, try to make the name sound friendly and not something like Razorr! Also, don't go with stereotypes by using words such as "Desi" or "Indi'. I'm thinking of a name for you. I'll follow it up in this thread if something comes to mind. Good luck!
Head over to www.brandbucket.com - they have some really great brandable names there. Since you're selling both fashion and electronics - completely different buyers - you want to find a name that's not only memorable, but generic enough that it carries no meaning, which would allow you to sell any type of product. Think Zappos, eBay, Amazon, etc. If you want to be successful, do what successful people do.
WoWWW! You're really open-minded person. I would suggest to @creativewebmaster considering a mess-up between several indian words thus creating a new ( unique ) word. It would attract more! This works perfectly for national markets!
You can have something like Yebhi Idea behind this is an Indian meaning. As you are going to open store in India so it should be an Indian name. Yebhi has 2 hindi meanings "Ye" and "bhi" that means "try this one too" You can have something similar.
I never heard of making up random brand names before. But I guess if Zappo can do it so could we. The short and catchy names are usually more memorable to me.
If you're still looking for a good name, I can offer you something special. And which domain extension you're looking for?
Do not you brandbucket as someone recommended above. They're a rip-off. We've all considered them during the haydays of launching a business. I'll tell you the secret: go on sedo.com and visit their marketplace auction page. Pick "Buy Now Listings" under Listing Type filter. Additionally, filter by 4, 5, 6 letter .com domains and anything else you want/don't want. Then, search using "starts with" for pronounceable beginning combo letters like "ba", "bo", "ca", "te", etc. Result? a bunch of short, pronounceable domains that can complete against the best of brandbucket without the price-tag. Best part is, you don't have to haggle - you can just buy now and the domain is yours. You can also choose "contains" rather than "starts with". I just quickly did this now and found, for example, "nybar.com" available for $1000 - seems pretty darn good for SEO if you're in the liquor or even law business.
