I've been playing PC games a LOT when I was a kid. Those were the times when one turned on their computer just to draw something in Paint or play Solitaire :D Nowadays graphics is awesome and games are complicated and long, but I liked all those games on Windows 3.1 much better. Anyone with same opinion?

Anyway, here are my top 2 games from that time.

    1. Supaplex

    2. Prince of Persia

I never heard a someone ever using windows 3.1 in the past. At least not in my areas.
I have used windows 3.1 and 4.1 (95) in the past. I remember tweaking autoexec.bat and typing 'win' to enter windows and winword to execute MS Word.
There are few games I have played in the past while using win 3.1 such as some kind of solitaire and 'mines'.
TTD (transport Tycoon Deluxe) is the only games which make happy at that moment. I'm using (and self compiling) OpenTTD now.

An old experience which make me really love OS based console.:)

I can't say I loved Windows 3.1/DOS games, as I used the Amiga, but yes those old games were so much better. It was all about the game play. I can't really get into modern games. Even Football Manager is too over the top these days. The last games I enjoyed (that weren't football management related) were Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun (both are from the Command & Conquer series).

Yeah, it was all much more playable. Nowadays games are almost the same and since 2000 or something, I have a feeling that only graphics has become more advanced. Graphics doesn't mean nothing if the game isn't playable and doesn't attract gamers.

Old Lotus PC game for instance is a racing game and it had multiplayer option for 2 players to play at once. I remember playing with my dad every day on the same keyboard and same monitor. Also one of the best I've ever played.

Not just Windows 3, but also running games directly from MS-DOS, which can still be done by creating a USB boot disk to enjoy those games on modern computers.

Of course, you can make use of "compatibility" features on newer Windows operating systems and even run a CMD box that is a reduced version of the real command.com that Windows 98/ME and backwards included, but there is no point of comparison when you boot the laptop with a MS-DOS USB and play those old classics that are still pretty enjoyable regardless their graphics are not the best next thing on earth.

Maybe there is emulator for Amiga.
GBA is another platform which I really like to play.
It never fail make me smile. I used to play it while coding some stuffs or compiling emulator.

A simple question. Do you think DP should have a section about 'old memorial games'?
I think everyone must have their own old school favorite games.

I remembered those games :) . Prince of Persia, also do not forget Wasteland and Bard Tales. A lot of fun during those times even though the graphics sucks.

Graphic is not too important for me (I'm not gamers, just 'computer lover').
Even with bad graphic, it didn't stop me to play the games till the end. :)

I remember playing old games about pirate. The title maybe "monkey island'. I'm not quite remember the game. Never play it again till now.

The only game I had for now is TTD deluxe by Chris Sawyer. A simulation games which taught us to learn how to manage business.
I often play this game while waiting the compiling progress or uploading file to server.

There are a few available, but there's nothing like having the real hardware! (That sounds a bit wrong - or it's my filthy mind!) UAE is probably the best one out there.

Yes, a wonderful game, so addictive and funny. I visited a friendly recently and he showed me the "updated" version, which was the original game but could switch between old and new graphics. Really, I still much more prefer the old graphics. :):)

I never tried the updated version.
I assume it must be better than the original in term of story-line.

No one sold the games anymore in my country. :)

Same storyline, just updated graphics and sounds.

Although there were some sequels. I only played the first two games, though.

KGB was another good adventure game.
