Ok so ironically my site is based around web development; http://www.klikkit.co.uk/ but I've never worked with Wordpress' blogging side. I want to have a link in my navbar 'blogs' that lists my latest blogs with images and summaries in a format similar to: http://www.idownloadblog.com/ I want to only allow comments on the blog posts and not the standard web pages. How would I go about this? I'm completely lost!
Ok, so you would sign up for Wordpress, make your blog, and have the button that says "blog" link to the blog. There are many templates that look like the one you've posted.
This post hasn't really helped me at all, you've just said what I asked in my question I'm asking how to do it.
You can disable comments on pages/ posts from overview. select post/page and click click Quick edit. then lookup there
You may have to toggle the admin panel page(top right) in order to see discussion or comments so you can disable them on pages only. hope that helps, Nigel
Ok, that's for the pages/posts disabling, but what about the 'latest posts' page? with the summaries/images for each article in list format?
Site looks nice, well done.... Can you drop a link to the problem? You should be able to turn off comments granularly on whatever you want. Additionally, if you have skype I can flesh this out for you in real time real fast if you want. Nigel
All they have to do is make a page called blog and set it the page template to blog. The link to his site is in the OP. Nigel
Appreciate it, I can't skype right now because it's 1am and I'm doing a million things at once but: http://puu.sh/3boME.png There's no option to set the template :/ Unless I create Posts but..
