Need Help to remove Robots file.

Hello Friends,

I have word-press based website, which theme i have take from my friend. I am unable to find out robots files. The Robots file has finished the appearance of website in Google.

Please suggest me.

It is because, you have specified in your robots file, that no search engine could access your files. So, your robots file is stopping search engines from accessing your website. You will find robots file in the root directory of the website. Try changing the robot file. It'a a WP site, so you can write something like this:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Disallow: /wp-includes/
and whatever URLs you don't want search engines to index.

Thanks Radha for your reply , but i am unable to find robots file in root directory, that's why asking ....

Can you not login via ftp or myadmin so you cna edit that file?

 

If it's not there then upload new one using ftp and try submitting your sitemap.xml again to Google and Bing.

 

I am unable to find that file through ,(Through FTP)

 

The robots file is there but i am unable to find out, (wordpress has more than 500 files)

 

But if you open the public_html file they are listed alphabetically

 

yes i have tried but not found, i have also upload new robots file in the root directory so that it will replace with previous but my file is not replace with.

I am looking help from expert who can find the solution.

contact your server provider. If all the above things are not working then i think you have limited access to the server. and also check file transfer software "logon type" "protocol" etc
