    I know bad things may happen any times. As long as DP coming back online, I have no problem for losing Comments or anything else. As webmaster and forum owner (maintaining small groups of local university) I can feel the pain.
    Let's start posting again, shall we?:D

    Well, if there is one thing that we all can learn from this, it is that a regular creation of backups is very important and should not be underestimated. Don't keep your precious data in only one place unless you don't mind losing them.

    I am glad that you managed to restore the website, I can imagine that it must have been very stressful.

    OMG This really suckss.. I know how you feel :( I am glad the damage was not worse.

    I am sure DP will jump right back to normal pretty soon :)

    Now that we are fully in the cluster, live backups while database is in use is nice at least... :)

    Nothing to worry dear, we understand your situation. i also faced similar situation you are lucky to have at least 2 weeks of backup where i lost 3 months of forum.
    Dont worry and move on we can create threads again :)

    These things happen, it's not the end of the World and it's only going to make things better for the future. I like the way the site is going, I can't help feel though that there's a lot more posts in the general chat category than other categories. I think some kind of filtering system on the What's New page so we can only see stuff related to web dev rather than "Who's better lady gaga or Madonna"

    I am not sad that I have lost my comments, Likes and conversation but happy to see that DP is back and It's all for me. Loss and gain are the part of life. Whenever we lost something at the same time we also get something in return of that loss. It's the law of nature, I know it's a tough time for the Admin of DP but I have trust that they can make it much better than before and they handled the whole situation very nicely. Here I have a message for DP.
    “Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.”
    And:

    Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.
