I thought I'd start a thread on marketing your site through a video

    1. make the video good. if it's not good, no one will care.

    2. make sure you put the site name in the video. not all video farms allow links

    sites to upload to:

    youtube.com
    myspace.com
    google.com
    spikedhumor.com
    revver.com (this one pays you)
metacafe.com (this one too, but I'm yet to make a dime on it)
    stupidvideos.com

    sites to propogate your video:

    digg.com
    milkandcookies.com
    reddit.com
    stumbleupon.com

that's all I can think of for now. anyone have anything to add?

If all you want is the ability to add a title, let me tell you about a little gem of a program from ULEAD I have been using for years...

It is called Cool 3D and it has the following virtues:

    1) It is cheap ($50), especially compared to Adobe Premier
    2) There is a trial version available so you can give it a whirl first
    3) It makes some really impressive titles if you want to go hog wild.

    The URL is http://www.ulead.com/store/cool3d/runme.htm.

Beware that there are TWO versions of this software...the "plain jane" version for $49 and a more "pro" version for about $179. Download the trials and give them a whirl...they may be just what you are looking for.

Any other reasonable video package ought to have some sort of titling feature. I only point this out because premier is talking some hefty dollars if you do not already own it. I have a copy but was not happy with Premier (is a resource hog...or at least WAS in the older versions....don't know if it has been fixed). Just my opinion of Premier.

    Good luck!

You could put something at the end like... More videos at www.yoursite.com. I put up a video on some of the video sites mentioned. Don't know how much traffic they bring in but the video does have a lot of hits.

You can promote your video in Mootion.com - just set up an account and send your videofarm (youtube/metacafe/bliptv/revver) URL video, or your blog post with a YouTube embedded video (much better: you'll get a link to your blog via Mootion.com).

    Try it!
