Hello, Question about picking Tracking URL for Ringtone Offers

Hi Everyone. I have just started promoting the ringtone offers. My question is about Tracking URL.

I picked out the Tracking URL by following azoogle steps.

    1- Search for offers
    2- Choose Web/email or Search.
3- I picked Web, because i am advertising thru adwords but using my own website to advertise.
4- After choosing web, i picked out the Tracking URL from that page.

Now, i have got close to 60 clicks, but no leads...im sure out of those 60 people, atleast 1 would convert to a lead.

Is there something which im doing wrong? have i picked the right Tracking URl ?

    Thanks.

You are obviously tracking fine to see 60 clicks. However, volume wise that's basically nothing and it's entirely possible you won't have leads, for several reasons.

    1) Perhaps your creative on your landing page is misleading and people are clicking then not wanting to sign up.

    2) Traffic you are sending to an offer simply can't sign up because of carrier or region.

    3) Volume, 60 clicks is simply too low to tell. 1% conversion of 100 clicks would only be 1 sale. Obviously you should be aiming for much higher conversion, but that depends entirely on how targetted your traffic is and how good your landing page is.

So rule of thumb should be ~1% conversion with reasonable traffic, much much higher if you are sending highly specific traffic.

I for one have like 5-9% conversion rate, but it took some time to get there, looking at the keywords, the categories etc. It's nothing you can archieve after just starting with ringtones. Just test different things, ringtones has many competitors, it's nothing by now that is made relatively easy. You have to track all you can and analyze. Then some day it's all almost automated and you can look for other affiliate programs =)

How are you placing the ads on your website. That can make a difference too. If you are misleading people, when they get to the landing page of the affiliate and it turns out to be not what they expected, they are unlikely to convert.

You want to make sure you qualify people to get your product so you only have legitimately interested parties clicking. It is easy to get clicks, takes some work to get conversions.

I have them go to a landing page where they pick their "carrier" for their phones than from there, they go to the offer page.

I am doing just like all the other ringtone affiliates...

Maybe a black cloud over my site ??? Heh...

yes but are you promising free ringtones... as people are starting to catch on a realize they are signing up for a pay service... while you do get 10 for free it is only because you are signing up for monthly contract. Also if you are just going after the keyword ringtones this could be part of the issue also.

No, I do not have the term "free" on my site or neither on my ads. I use Complementary or bonus tones. And no im not just going after keyword ringtones...Im actually using about 100 diff. keywords.

It could also be that you're targeting keywords that are too general, trying choosing keywords that are more specific.

hmm, so if we take the link from "Tracking URL" field, that won't track conversions or something? I am using it also and see clicks, but no conversions yet.

I can't see any other options for text link advertisements.
