I have a domain name www.infatex.com it's been registered about 6 years ago. Today i did a search on google for INFATEX and saw my site as usual, but then when i looked down the results i found out that there is a site with the same TITLE www.infatex.net when i clicked on it i was stunned. It had exsactly the same content as my site. All the links were pointing to my site. Then i decided to check the WHOIS info. It said that the site was registered to: Domain name: infatex.net Registrant Contact: Infatex, Inc. Daniel Roger 1-888-642-9675 fax: 13861 Sunrise Valley Drive Herndon VA 20171 us Administrative Contact: Daniel Roger 1-888-642-9675 fax: 13861 Sunrise Valley Drive Herndon VA 20171 us Technical Contact: Daniel Roger 1-888-642-9675 fax: 13861 Sunrise Valley Drive Herndon VA 20171 us Billing Contact: Daniel Roger 1-888-642-9675 fax: 13861 Sunrise Valley Drive Herndon VA 20171 us DNS: ns3.cnmsn.com ns4.cnmsn.com Created: 2006-10-23 Expires: 2007-10-23 What should i do? Will this effect my rankings. I am afraid this will considered as a dubmicate content. I can see google already droped several listing down.
WOW. That is amazing. Email the person requesting they take down your copyright content. If tehy do not reply or give you grief, send a DMCA complaint to their host. File it with Google also and get it removed from their index.
1. If the content is yours, you should contact their host. Prove it was yours prior to the .net using it, and demand they remove it. 2. Are you a corporation Infatex Inc.? There seem to be many links with that anchor text, but the company did not seem to be registered in CA, where is looks like you do business. If you are not a corp, you should not use the Inc. designation. 3. The .net says it is owned by Infatex Inc., if they legitimately have the corporate name, then they can probably use the .net domain name. Of course, they have no right to steal your content. hope that helps some.
He is pointing everything to your site which is really giving you free promotion. I don't think you should do anything about it. His site is not an exact copy of yours as he doesn't have the pictures on his. My opinion is to first monitor it and see what he does next.
probably wasn't a good idea to link to his site from this thread though. If he checks his referral stats and notices all this traffic he might come here and start working on a defense. Also, do not file a DMCA complaint unless you have submitted your work to the US Copyright office and have legally protected your content in that way. The reason for that, is because if they challenge your DMCA notice, and decide to take it to court, you will have to show conclusive evidence that the content is copyrighted by you or your company. If you fail to prove that, you may be liable for all legal fees and the case will be decided against you. The DMCA is not a magic bullet unless you have taken the first legal step to protect your content.
http://www.archive.org/index.php Would be one way. It shows the historial pages that existed in the past. (I know there are some limitations to it) I am sure there are other ways, and I too would like to hear them.
