I'm trying to figure out where to spend some cash on an ad budget, I was leaning towards Facebook, but I came across this article (http://altitudedigitalpartners.com/blog/small-business-expand-use-of-online-ad-networks/) which discussed LinkedIn and is making me reconsider...what do you think?

It really depends on who you're trying to market too, what is your target audience? Adult Men / Women who are business professionals, Teenagers, Middle aged adults?

It is depend according to market. What kind of business you choose and where to promote. Social network website publish your ad in mobile without permission which is not good(not able to see full feature of your website, another way to loose money). No option is available to avoid your ads on mobile like fb etc. You can try google adwords or may be my signature. Like orkut, g+ are already with adwords.

I agree. You should know your target market first so you would which social media site they would frequent more. If you're looking at advertising your site, then there's Facebook ads, but I suggest youtry at getting free traffic from these social media sites, before investing.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

It's depends on your website products and services but if you have bulk traffic and huge inquiries Facebook is best but for genuine inquiries LinkedIn is best because it's professional network.

Facebook is a great place to advertise if you have an initiative attached to your product/service. If you do this, it will be a huge hit. On the other hand, LinkedIn premium won't be that much effective. Investing in some good SMO toll will definitely help you market your product/service extensively as they have wider reach.

Yes, primarily depends on what you are trying to market. Facebook and Pinterest have very different demographics for example.

Depends on your target market. Facebook works for all, but if you are targeting women, go for Pinterest or if you are targeting professionals, go for linkedin. Similarly, depending on your Market you can choose a related social network for more conversions.
    cheers!
