Google PR confusion.... PR3 or PR2

Okay, I am still kind of new with understanding PR.

One of my sites is a celebrity directory.

    The url www.SweetCelebSites.com/ is PR3

    The url www.SweetCelebSites.com/index.php is PR2

They are the same page. Why do I get different PR?

Thanks, just trying to understand how the whole PR thing works.

P.S. anyone is welcome to add celeb site to my PR3 or 2 directory. It is always free.

    They are different URL.

    For example:

    http://www.SweetCelebSites.com
    http://SweetCelebSites.com
    http://www.SweetCelebSites.com/index.php
    http://www.SweetCelebSites.com/index.html

Use 301 redirect so that you will have PR will be redirected to the page you preferred.
301 redirect is simply redirecting a page in your site to another URL either from same domain or new domain that you designed to be your main domain.

give it a little time and the PR will average out between the two pages. Did you start with an index.html before and then replaced it with the .php page?

What time are you trying to say? (will sounds confusing)

His problem is mainly he didn't use 301 redirect thats why he has 2 home pages with different PR. Just my 2 cents. :)

    Thanks for the replies.

I guess I need to do a redirect. I am still not sure why. I know that without the www it is different. But these two seem to me they should still be the same:

    http://www.SweetCelebSites.com
    http://www.SweetCelebSites.com/index.php

Since the .com/ leads to the index.php

I really appreciate the tips, I am completely self taught so a lot of small things still escape me.

make sure all links on your site are to the preferred (normally domain only) homepage, chances are internal pages are linked /index.xxx thanks to using dreamweaver etc.

to get the same PR across this two separate URL is to have inbound link spread out i.e. sometimes have first URL as the inbound link and sometimes use the other as Inbound Link.
