Happy Labor Day, DPers! Will you register .XXX domains if the price goes down to about US$ 9 per year? Looking forward to your feedback. Kindest regards,
Surely I will. I love to buy domains. I already own different TLD and would always buy more whenever new TLD comes out. If I own .XXX, I don't know what is the best content for it. Mature content? Well, I have no skills for it. Maybe just bought and collect the .XXX domain. I have few spaces in my server, creating few accounts for few domains could be good idea.
Yeah I did. Some at http://nicenic.net Since I did not develop website on .xxx does anyone know if they are geotargetable? This list seems to be a bit outdated http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1347922
Hello Arick, your feedback was greatly appreciated. I read a .XXX Q & A yesterday: #3. Who can register .XXX domain names? Domains are available to everyone, regardless if you're looking to block content from being published or provide a secure site for adult content. So, taking people's high concern on brand protection into consideration, I personally agree that ICM Registry's mega sales is pretty smart.
Hi dddougal, here is an official press release posted by Registry of .XXX on May 1, 2013: http://www.icmregistry.com/press/unprecedented-prices-for-new-xxx-registrations/ Hope it will help you a bit anyhow.
Hey Sport streams, it's so nice to meet you here, sorry for my having no idea that you signed up with DP. As for your question about whether the .XXX domain name is geotargetable or not", I will have my Registrar Liaison Manager Patrick informed, and get back with you later. Faithfully,
Hi Ruriko, good question! As far as I know, ICM Registry designed a search engine of Search.XXX exclusively for .XXX websites, please refer to the following news release published on 2012-09-27: "ICM Registry, the company behind .XXX domain, announced recently that they will be launching on September 27, 2012 a new search engine, dedicated to developed .XXX websites at Search.xxx. The company said that Search.xxx was developed in order to deliver highly relevant search results. Moreover, the company said that the new search engine will bring more value to .XXX domain names through additional traffic generation. The search engine will only list developed .XXX website. However, non-members of the Sponsored Community will be excluded. Therefore, if you want to get your .XXX website promoted on Search.XXX you will have to be an official member of the Sponsored Community. Some important guidelines include : The Search.xxx engine will only crawl fully developed .XXX websites; links to non .XXX TLDs will not be crawled. If your .XXX website is forwarded to an adult site with a .COM, .NET, etc. extension, your DNS must use an 'A' record to point your .XXX to your web servers IP address, not a CNAME record. The search engine will only function on other TLDs if the URL is masked. Robots.txt files must be configured correctly, thus limiting the search engine crawl to visible pages only. As with any website each page must have good SEO, keywords should be used in titles, URLs, domain name and content. If you do not want your .XXX domain to be listed on the Search.XXX engine, you can send your request here." PS: if my reply didn't answer your question well, please let me know, I will have Patrick involved and share more information. Thank you! All the best,
Hi humtuma, I really appreciate your time and comment. Could you please be so kind as to elaborate what you mentioned by "a lot of formality to be done"? Tbh, I didn't understand, if you were saying .XXX domain registration process, I am afraid there is no any extra requirements than a .COM's. As for .XXX domain's renewal cost, it's better for us to do multi-year registration. In the whole month of May, the pricing range of .XXX 10 years will be from USD 89.9 to USD 99.9.
I forgot to read that article before i comment. If i remember , these domains name need some special requirement. As well which website give it for 8.99$. I didn't find on Network Solutions.
If you should say special requirement on .XXX, I consider it is "Validation by registry is required for Sponsored Community in order to obtain a resolving, functioning domain name. Non-functional Domains can be registered by any party for brand protection." As for the price comparison of .XXX domains between different Accredited Registrars, you can find it at http://www.icmregistry.com/buy/.
If anyone could register a .xxx domain and if they was for sale for just $9 or even anything less than $11 then I would defiantly purchase myself one. I don't know what I may use the domain for or register it for but sure will like to register one because of the way it would look. I wouldn't start a adult site but could have discussions about adult stuff. The domain dose look cool for anything that has to deal with adult content or black hat.
As promised, I got response from our XXX Registrar Liaison Manager, please find below: .xxx names are like any other tld, and you can geo-target any domain name - that is you have the capability of doing so.
Hey Greg, how are you? Yeah, as I stated in the subject, the pricing of .XXX domain name will be kept around 9 bucks per year, namely 90 bucks for 10 years, during the whole month of May, so feel free to grab one Besides, I am happy to share with you the information I got from ICM Registry relevant to .XXX website content: "Please be informed that for .XXX domain to be resolve, it is necessary to associate customer membership ID with it. And as long as customer is having membership ID, the website can be used normally without adding adult content." (Hooray....)
Hello R, thanks for the further followup. We as an honest Registrar can't give you a confirmative response about how .XXX websites will be ranked on GG now, but I will write ICM Registry in person later today, and hope to reply you tomorrow, China Time. Your patience will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely
Hello Ruriko, as promised, find below the timely reply I got from ICM Registry please: We have seen quite a few websites ranked high in google. It just takes time and development, like any other TLD. It also works well when users type in XXX after their search term, which is very common in searches now. Usually when you type in the terms below without "XXX" on the end, you will most likely not get what you are looking for right away. Search for: Gay XXX Casting XXX Mom XXX SheMales XXX Even regular searches are giving us some first page results already - try to google "Perfect Girls", near the bottom of page 1.
