    what gnu/linux distribution your server is running on? do you have any control panel installed?

    First of all you need to know what operating system is you running. According to operating system you have to follow different steps.

    You can install ffmpeg using the ffmpeg auto installer script. Download the latest version at http://ffmpeginstaller.com/download , unpack it on your server and then chmod '.sh' files to 777. Execute install.sh and it will do the work for you.

    You can use WHMXtra to install FFMPEG on cPanel, it does it nice and quick and you can install / remove with a click of a button!
