Hello, One of my client sites has been evolving pretty well and now we're thinking about placing a "do follow" link to another site - it will be embedded within an article. Essentially, this is going to be a paid blog post. Would you risk doing such a thing if you had a developing site with decent traffic? Or would you rather say "no"? I was wondering about what experiences you've had. I've had mine, just curious about whether you'd go ahead...
if the other site has similar theme, then there is no issue in adding a link or 2 in the blogpost. people use references all the time in articles they publish. however, don't make it a habit of selling blogposts to sites that are not relevant to the site theme.
Obviously, my client site is willing to provide a few paid guest posts with a few outbound "do follow" links. All outgoing links are normally "nofollow" on my client site. Only these paid ones will be left standard links. I wonder what influence that would have in Google rankings, PR etc.
You will really have to define "a few" for me. Google isn't too fond of link juices flowing from high ranking sites and more so of guest posts. A paid post can be compared to a guest post as you aren't really writing it with your audience or their needs in mind; you are writing it with the advertiser in mind. You might find this relevant to your situation: If your client is placing a few paid posts per month (lol, I used "few" again!), posts that might somehow help his/her target audience then it shouldn't be something that he/she should be worried about. For instance, say your client has a Wordpress design blog and gets an offer to place a paid post about a new, premium WP theme. The post has to be written by your client (or the person who usually writes the content for the blog) and as it helps the readers by informing them about a new theme, it is allowed (I think). Now If your client gets an offer to blog about, say, some revolutionary weight loss capsules and he/she accepts the offer, I don't think it will be liked by Google too much. Just my 2¢...
There's no harm linking to another site if the site that you're linking to is related to or relevant to the article you're publishing. I suggest you don't make it a habit though. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
Yes, very true. You can post link of another website which is relevant to your article which you are posting.
