Review My Directory Design

Hi, I recently redesigned one of my directories, now I want to know what people think about the new phpld template I made. Please feel free to suggest me any change that comes to your mind. Directory is www.dirdir.org

It's simple & it's easy to see what is what right from the off, however i would probably like to have the search box at the top of the categories on the index...

 

it is ugly.

 

Just noticed something How would webmasters [Advertise Here] when those graphics are not linked? or is the design not 100% finished yet?

Its simple and fast loading, which is the good side to it. Not too impressive though.

 

I'll be a lil clearer, the Advertise Here graphic buttons on your site are not linked up to an advertising page, so how would surfers advertise there?

 

The $35 submitting price is a bit too high, isn't it?

 

I definitely like the idea of the design which is simplicity and classiness but I don't like its implementation. I would suggest some different colors(Black and gold?) as well as better integration of ads and the menu system; in general just create a better flow.

dirdir should be pr 5 on next update, hopefully categories will be pr4, so $35 for a lifetime pr4 link is fair I think.

Black or grey, a good example of user interface is http://www.avivadirectory.com but I would suggest adding featured links on the bottom like http://www.alivedirectory.com

 

Its kind of new design.

Not really sure, If I like it on a longer term. Short term that is good.

Fixed some things, tell me what you think right now

 

It looks almost exactly the same, there needs to be a few serious changes such as color and layout

 

what i changed is the bg of the advertisers part and linked to a contact us page from the advertise here buttons

 

That does make it more user friendly for the advertisers, but the main problem is the design.
