Hi Deb, thanks again for your kind assistance. It's been a long journey. When I send my first site here for review a few years back, I was criticized left, right, center for the amateurish banner. At that time, I thought my banner was damn nice, LOL. Look at the yellow banner in the link below. I still have an emotional attachment to it but no way will I use such a banner! http://dummipedia.jbdirectory.com/About
Deb, thank you very much for your kind assistance. I have uploaded the banner to my website. It's been a long journey. I still remember the first time I put up my other website for review here in DigitalPoint. I was criticized left, right, and center for my amateurish banner. The banner is as attached. I have kept it for sentimental reasons but no way will I ever use such a banner in my website again, LOL.
Deb, I have seen the header and it's simply marvellous!!! I like the orange tone. "Dined" by the way, has one "n" (not 2).
GREAT BLOG AND FANTASTIC RECIPES! my suggestions are maybe change the fonts and the background? I think the gray color makes the tone of the blog a bit ... heavy, and you may want to change to a lighter color background. Just my opinions, hope it helps!
I'm using Chrome (latest version) and when I click on an image on your content slider, nothing happens! When the user clicks on an image on the carousel, either redirect them to more info or (this is my favorite option) smoothly scroll them down the page to the appropriate section. See here (link will only work 2013): http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/211/dessert.png/ The user would be scrolled from the top of the page to the raspberry sorbet section below. A slightly easier (as far as coding) option would be to make the large image at the top a link to the same think as the read more button down the page. I know this explaination is confusing, so if you have questions about what I mean don't be afraid to ask! -Tony
Hi Viviantu, Thank you for your input. I agree with you. What color do you think would look good? Sim
Hi Tony, Thanks for your input. I see what you mean; clicking on the slider photo does not do anything. Maybe it should go to the recipe page. What do you think? Sim
Sim- If the OP has little Javascript experience, that would be a perfectly acceptable option that most sites use. Personally, I would prefer a smooth scroll down to the article, just because the little sections below the slider are already set up and it would look nice. -Tony
http://allrecipes.com/ How about the background of this website? or maybe... very light yellowish orange?
Hi Viviantu, That website looks good. I prefer their colors. I'll play around with colors. Thanks. Sim
