It looks like they got him. They fired about 30 rounds at him. But it's being made very very clear they want him alive. There are questions only he can answer. Each network has a different interesting view of the area. CNN still seems to be banned from getting anywhere close to the action and no local network wants to share coverage with them.
Boston reports: suspect in custody.... I hope they get the info they want from him, then give him a free injection of "death"....
IT'S OVER!They really got him this time, he's in custody (really!). It would have been real easy to shoot him down. But it took exceptional skill, Aaron Hotchner skill, to talk him into surrendering. Alive, this guy will tell us what we need to know to prevent things like this from happening again.
I'm glad, they got them both - dead and alive. At least they're off the streets. I read the one that made it lost a lot of blood, and they took him to the hospital.
It would not hurt my feelings one little bit if he dies of his injuries.... and if he lives.... the taxpayer gouging begins on this terrorist.... If I was in govt, these would be my rules: 1: Convict the terrorist 2: Put him on a plane 3: Drop him off in open sea with ankle weights.... (with a small oxygen tank so he can ponder just before his 1hr of oxygen is up)
In case any of you are wondering why Carmen Ortiz's face is defacing your TV screen, it's because she's trying to save her career; she's universally despised for taking misdemeanors and blowing them up into 30-year sentences to further her political career: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/04/02/swartz_prosecutors_threatened/ http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/01/13/anger_death_aaron_swartz/
It appears the guy got hit with a bullet or shrapnel last night and somehow managed to escape the police perimeter and make it to this guys boat in his backyard. According to the boston police chief, the homeowner noticed a rip in the cover and blood on the side. He looked inside and saw the suspect laying down and all bloody. At that point he must have known he was caught. My guess is that he was too weak to make a run for it, so he just decided to hold up in the boat as long as possible. Police exchanged gunfire with him several times. Tonight they were not sure if any injuries were from the shootings tonight. The press conference revealed that the suspect did not communicate with police, so they had to forcefully get him out of the boat. My guess is that they threw several flash bang grenades before going in. TV reporters first thought it was more gunfire, but later said it was explosions. I am guessing the guy was just too weak to fight. He shot out of the boat several times. He punched holes in the cover so he could see out. At one point they mentioned a fire in the boat, but that was probably from a flash bang grenade. I watched live coverage from the moment the story broke until they caught him. I couldn't look away for 2+ hours knowing they had him surrounded and it was only a matter of time. The best part of the night was all the crowds cheering on the police as they left. It was like a parade. These cops have been working all week straight, especially the last 24 hours.
Pay Per View... Quality Entertainment $9.95 That is a damn good idea for the govt to make money...put him on Torture-Live and charge a fee...can you imagine how much the govt would make... I would subscribe...If you do the crime, you do tv time.... Govt Moto: We turn evil into a positive.... live death on TV, not this fake stuff... You would be shocked at how many would subscribe to this... We are sick and tired of the same old BS re-runs on cable/satellite. Provide us with DeathRace Live... All Day, Everyday, no re-runs of the same crap.... every criminal is a new show....
I'm glad its over, and I'm glad they caught him alive. I fear his trial will become a magnet for more Al Queda wannabes, but the cost of trying him will likely be offset by the cost of forensically digging through his bathroom trashcan trying to divine his motivations. Personally, I fear these two are the worst kind of would be terrorists. The kind that had absolutely no communication with some asshat in the middle east, but instead simply sympathized with a cause, Googled homemade bombs, and went on their way to kill and maim. There is very little anyone can do to protect themselves from that kind of mayhem, and IMO more legislation putting a two way TV in all of our living rooms is not the answer. On a personal note, while I'm thrilled the guy is killed/captured, the open festivities in Boston I find to be as over the top as the street parties when we got Bin Laden. Killers are dead and/or caught. Good riddance. We don't need to be a bunch of skinnies, dragging the bodies of our persecutors through the street. We are better than that. [Warning! Graphic! and to think these guys are so brainwashed, his family is pretty much saying we are the bad-evil bastards that have framed and murdered their family members.... (the boston bombers) It is shocking to think of the damage that just 2 people caused... 4 deaths x amount of injuries Fear + more fear + some more fear Boston shutdown for a week. $300m+ in lost revenue. These guys are hero's to somebody around the world, but not to the US Govt, he is just another terrorist that should get the needle.... (oh wait, maybe we framed him and should let him go....) or maybe I am just high....on something. If they would have just left him in the boat a few hours longer, then he would have simply died of blood loss....
Looks like you hit it right on... Just got my mail today, I asked my mailman and turns out there was no mail delivery yesterday here in Boston due to the lockdown. In other news - I turned on local Boston WHDH/NBC news today. Hot damn, it looks like the news is anchored by a pair of big-breasted high school cheerleaders! Kayna Whitworth was wearing a skin-tight top, meanwhile the perky voiceover after the commercials is saying "Wake UP with WHDH in the morning!".
bombing suspect caught. sounds like he is near death. I hope he revives enough that they are able to find out everything about this incident and if any others are involved. then I hope he rots away to death.
I do not think he is that close to death.... He surely wasnt near death when he was firing on police last night when they surrounded him.... he is in bad shape, but I do not think he is near death... and if he is, then Mr Grim can have him... Want some salt and pepper? cuz they are going to fry him like a chicken...
and this is what makes the FBI look bad.... It seems that Russia or counter part notified the US about the older brother some years back asking the US to investigate the older brother as they had concern/info that he may be a bad dude.... The US did some background/investigation, and come up with nothing.... It also appears that the older brother spent six months back in his home land, and this is where the FBI thinks he got his bomb training.... I guess not much the US can do if his record come up clean at the time....
Sadly, this is Massachusetts not Oklahoma or Texas. Liberals with the strongest gun laws and no death penalty. If this guy survives, the taxpayers will likely be paying for his care and feeding for the rest of his life. Early retirement really.
ummm...doesnt matter what state he did this in, this is not a state crime he committed, this was a federal crime, anything the feds want to do with this terrorist will out-rank whatever the state law is, regardless if there is or is not a death penalty in Mass. I highly suspect that the us federal govt will push him to death row, sorry, state has no say over what the feds do with their terrorist, since he did commit federal crimes, and this is why he is in a federal court system, not a state court system; If he only committed actions on a state level, then another matter, and I do agree there is always a chance for "life" and if he does not get death, then he will infact get life in prision, but I strongly feel that the feds will push for the death penalty in this case. The govt at the very least owes the american public a "death" verdict. but no matter the outcome, he will rot, and die in prison or waiting for death row. For once the govt should provide a super fast speedy trial: 1: Conviction 2: Sentence 3: Death
I don't feel like the government "owes" the American public a death verdict. Many Americans don't even support the death penalty. In my state they do. I'm totally fine with it. Only because it's hard for me to have that much empathy, with the heinous crimes they have committed to earn an execution. Still, I'm not necessarily "hoping" for a death sentence. Alsothe way the system currently is, it probably costs just as much to execute someone than just give a life sentence without parole. I guess the bottom line for me is I'm just glad they have him locked up, so he can't hurt more people.
ok, maybe they dont owe us, but we would appreciate it... as far as for the cost "life" vs "death" - this is a huge mistake of the government... If we know they are guilty without doubt, and we know he is...then I do not think the govt should waste up to 15 years on death role; the cost would be rather low if you just execute them rather fast; I know that sounds kind of mean, but hey, they did this to themselves; Like I mentioned in an earlier post, those that were convicted in the murder of Lincoln was put to death within 3 months, and they were on the end of a rope, over and out, done, thats how you do it... If there is no doubt, then I think it is stupid to waste taxpayers money on appeal after appeal for the next 12-15 years or so.... Ok, I admit, maybe I was kinda of harsh when I said take him out on a plane then drop him off at open sea, this is how we should do it.... 1: Convict 2: Sentence 3: have 10 guys standing by with guns 4: a rope 5: a knife Put 3,4,5 into action.... then drop his dead body off at open sea.... (let the navy do it, they have experience doing that....) Use your imagination what I would do with the 10 guns, a rope, and a knife.... The govt used to know how to get stuff done... now they are just completely soft, and this is why we pretty much have a do nothing congress....
