Your PM box will be flooded with requests from DP members who requesting SEO Take in account PM box also has it limits
Thanks for all the replies guys. Let me assure you once again, my client is not stupid. I just had a phone conversation, and in fact, their logic makes sense. They are very smart business people and I have learned a lot form them. I will meet with them in two weeks, I'll get a detailed breakdown of their needs and update you all with my plan. Oh, and my SEO services are very expensive.
I think TOPS30 has the answer. Traffic and enquiries = £££, no matter how you look at it. Your client should find a suitable or start up company that needs the work and charge 10% them for referrals. You could even tell people this on the website. "Please note that when our service reaches capacity your enquiry will redirected to XXXXXXX who will provide an equivalent service."
Actually this is what happens when the SEO does not understand the clients business. One of my first clients was a small mortgage lead broker who had one other employee and lots of money. Since mortagage clients are in the lead generation business and this client had only two people to work the leads coming in I asked if he wanted to rethink the marketing campaign so that he did not drown in leads. I figured he could do 50 leads per day. Once we started the campaign it dumped 200+ leads on him daily. We started on Monday and by Friday he surrendered...... Many of you should stop and think before posting about what an idiot the client is....not a one of you chimed in to say you had the same problem so that tends to suggest you wish you had the same problem. Without walking in anothers shoes... it is hard to judge their path..... One stroke of luck does not mean you should over price your services. The keyword term you ranked the client for could have very few competitors
I have received the same for some of my customers. I don't understand if you are not prepared to sell why do y oustart a business?!
Actually, I understand my clients business perfectly. The original spec was clear and the client has had the ranking for quite a while, and very happy with it. I assure you, this was no stroke of luck. While I agree with your point, directing it at me without knowing what I do or what I charge is a bit .... The keywordS I have my client ranked for are very competitive. I know what I am doing, and I charge on the results I get. Clients would not pay me unless they received a healthy ROI and I have never had any complaints.
MAN if you are that good I wanna know your pricing. That is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard. They should stop complaining and just grow the business.
LOL. A client paying you to bring their search rankings down. I guess there is always a first for everything.
Uh, i've never heard anything like this before, but i agree with TOPS30 try monetizing it rather than reversing what good you done..
Sometimes keeping the business model is better for the company rather than to change it to use extra traffic. Also being popular is not good for everyone. I respect the decission.
I think every CEO is geared to making things better, so when someone tells them to undo the good work that he/she has done it goes against their principles.
