    I think you need to look under Buy/Sell/Trade then Services then Programming. Lots of people put up projects they need programmers for - find them and start a conversation about how you can help.

    The best way to get start is to give some free services on a small scale job. This way you will gain some reputation as well as get people to start trying your service

    Try freelancer.com , odesk.com, elance.com,etc. you can get lots of projects on those sites.
