Ranked high with PR0 - among 57,200,000

I know a site that is PR0 but ranked very high in Google. On-page SEO is rather normal but it got lots of backlinks, possibly 10 or more are links from authority sites.

My question is that is it possible for this farily new site (the site was created not too long ago, within 2-3 months, though the domain is about a year old) to be ranked so high in just few months?

I have been promoting a blog with the same keyword(s) before their site was made. Do you think quality backlinks simply beat any other SEO techniques in such a short period of time?

 

In short yes, quality backlinks are the most important thing.

 

Quality links are good, you need to be taking in other factors other than pagerank if your buying links such as website age and relevancy. And remember just because the toolbar says PR0 , it may have a PR6......

 

The PR is 0 because it's new. It may go up to PR6 or 7 in the next update, but the site didn't even exist few month ago.

Another site with the same keyword, created last month also got in top 10 by the way. This one has only 2000 + backlinks, but I am sure they have high PR backlinks as well.

It was so sudden to see them at the top. (probably took only a week or so to get top 10 from nowhere at Google)

 

Well they COULD be using blackhat seo methods, but i cant say anything without seeing the sites etc. But how old is your website? It may be sandboxed..or is it ranked atall?

 

I can guarantee you that they don't do blak SEO nor they know so much of SEO. It is not operated by a single webmaster for Adsense, not like that.

Well they must know some SEO to get high rankings in a competitive niche in such short time I cant really help you without seeing the URL's but try and get relevant and aged backlinks, and don't do it on just a monthly basis. Good luck

Actually, I would guess that many sites linked to this site. I highly doubt that they even bought a link.

Let me just say that the site got and is extremely popular. Almost no need to advertise or SEO.

But the fact they got in top 10 is the backlinks they gained in just 1 or 2 months. (possibly in 2-3 weeks)

That's why I wanted to ask if backlinks only could boost your SERP so quickly.

If you see this, I know that the site should be ranked so high, and I expected that. But what aobut sandbox?

 

It's a toolbar PR0. PR changes daily internally with google. So you might see a PR0 on your toolbar but the site could be a PR5,6 or 7 internally with google.

The Toolbar PR is only information available to the public since the last update. The current PR could be higher or lower.

 

No the current PR is 0. I have checked it at http://livepr.raketforskning.com

Besides, like I said, the site was created only 1-2 month ago. It takes time to get the PR as you already know...

I have a site that is 2 months old that is ranking on the first page for a very competitive search term and it's a PR0. I have not used any blackhat techniques or anything else.

Well Its the same case with my site - cashout-now.info for the word cashout it ranks 10th in google. (sometimes 11th) . It is PR0 . I lauched it just 2 mnths ago.
