    Hello dp community,

so i started a forum lately (vegaforums.net) and would like how can i promote it to get users to register (i tried reddit but all stay guests through that); reddit is just great for traffic (1pageview/user) and not for a forum.

So what would you suggest? Thanks <3

What is your forum about? You can promote your forums in social media sites, and other forums as well, but you need to determine what your forum would be about. Is it a tech forum or about music? This would help you identify who your target users are and where you would promote it.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

I agree with Affilorama, social media is the best option to promote your forum. Go to the any social media site and ask your friend to like your forum.

    Hi
Creating great content on the forum is also a great way to get new active members. The quality of the content on the forum is one of the most important factors.

I would actually create a site/blog first and as that gets popular, open up a forum. You'll have the traffic guaranteed then.

First of all, when I visit your website, I notice that I can't see anything unless I am registered. Unfortunately, I wouldn't register at a website that I know nothing about. I would make it visible to all.
Secondly, when it comes to forums, content creates more content. The more content that you have, the more posters that will show up to make comments. You need to make your website sticky.

If you can do SEO, i think you should do that.

Also try to get traffic from other forums, it could be possible to lure people to your forum, but it will take some time for sure, but possible.

SEO is not how you go about dealing with a forum.

That said, you have a range of issues.... Don't take anything personal ;)

    1. It has no focus what so ever so its like trying to market air.
    2. When someone visits that site its impossible to tell what is even going on there, as its seemingly about nothing in particular.
    3. You can't launch an empty forum and should never create a ton of categories(empty) out of the gate.
    4. First thing folks see is a broken nav bar because its not designed to wrap that like.

Someone mentioned above that you should make that a bolt on to something useful like a blog. He is entirely correct.

Regardless, its an uphill battle without any direction to it.
Off the top of my head I would launch a blog about the vegan lifestyle given the domain name and then launch the forum.

That is more a business model notion though. If you are not into the demographic etc. it becomes work. I largely base that on the domain name being similar.

Hope that helps a bit, I suspect you need to rethink things a bit before you waste a bunch of time.

If you do not mind paying a little bit you can join post loop, you can either post on other peoples forums to get the points to spend on your own or you can just buy points they do not cost to much people will earn roughly 0.10 per post so you will probably only pay something like 0.15 maybe thats just a guess but you only have to do it for like one month to get the ball rolling then let your members do the leg work you can join here postloop.com/invite/Popey87

At this point you should be more worried about your forum and how it appears to guests than trying to promote it. You can promote a pile of dog poop, but that doesn't mean anyone will be interested. I suggest you check out my article, First Impressions Matter. You really have to look at your forum from a different perspective. Blocking the content to only registered members is not a good start.
