    Please explain how an inactive editor ruins the place more than somebody (like you I imagine) who has never volunteered there at all.

    I guess the argument would run that inactive editors mean that site suggestions are not being listed fast enough. That ignores that editors are volunteers working in their spare time, that they do agree when accepted as editors to a minimum edit of one per four months, DMOZ only asks that of us and perhaps more importantly that DMOZ does not undertake to review suggested sites in a time frame acceptable to owners because they are not DMOZ's focus, that is on end users and DMOZ and its editors have no concern for any value that might attach to a listing.

    I agree with you that it is not inactive editors that ruin DMOZ, it is all the Admins and Metas who thrive on corruption, incompetence and petty vanity that ruin the directory. ;):)

    When we submitted our site into DMOZ, We never know it was added or not. I think it's not that much effective.
