I have been told that is a good show, but I have never seen it. I am not sure why I do this but I have my tv channel set on Comedy Central and I NEVER change it. If the show isn't on Comedy Central then I probably haven't seen it. I have done that for the last 3 years. I watch ALOT of reruns of Mad TV, stand up comedians, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Southpark, Mind of Mencia and some comedy movies. I get most of my news from visiting this forum
Rebecca, I'm totally cool with your statement up until the last sentence. Having been raised by a famous stand-up comedian how could I feel otherwise? I like to laugh - period. Even now in my old age. And it's a real art besides. "Dying is easy - comedy is hard."
Hi Dead Corn, That would be great to be raised by a comedian Making someone laugh is probably the greatest gift you can give them. Back in 2003/2004 I had cancer and it had spread, the doctor said things didn't look so good because it had spread in my lymph system. I went thru alot of treatment and it wasn't easy but I found sometimes I would just tune out the rest of the world and watch stand up comedians for hours everyday Amazingly now, I am completely recovered and they can no longer find any traces of cancer, but I still keep it on comedy central because it is so funny You have to combat all that negativity in the world with a heavy dose of laughter.
There is no commandment in the Bible that says "Thou shall not be comedic". I live by that not being there.
Good thing for that I have read some passages in the bible, but I admit my knowledge of it is superficial. It seems like a sense of humor or ability to laugh is part of a persons spirit. It would be interesting to know if there are any references to humor in the bible. Have you ever heard of any?
Read this excerpt: Does God Have a Sense of Humor? The Bible tells us that the Creator is a “happy God,†and that he made man ‘according to his likeness.’ (1 Tim. 1:11; Gen. 1:26) The ability to be happy, to have fun, to enjoy a sense of humor, innate to all races of men, must logically have come from the Creator. Many animals perform humorous antics. Who can refrain from smiling at a kitten chasing a ball of wool? Who can help but laugh at puppies playing together, the mischievous pranks of monkeys, or the comical expressions of parrots? Jehovah has made certain animals very amusing to us humans, and this provides an unending source of happiness and fun. A sense of humor is clearly God’s gift. Though the various forms of verbal humor are not limited to any one country or nationality, many people are more or less noted for certain types. Americans are said to be fond of hyperbole, an intentional exaggeration for emphasis or humorous effect. “It’s raining cats and dogs,†is an example. Also, “I nearly died laughing.†“I tried a thousand times.†Such statements, of course, are not literally true and this is usually understood by the listener.
Animals are pretty funny. I have 6 cats (I know, too many) and 1 dog. They have this big game they like to play where the dog races around the house with a long string in his mouth and all the cats chase him back and forth. They act pretty crazy sometimes
LOL. Animals are great. Love them. I have a Burmese cat (Sabrina) and a Rottweiler/Alsatian (Suzy). The dog loves the cat but the cat hates the dog....LOL The antics between these two is very humorous.
Yeah, dying is easy until you've done it onstage and have to face the other comedians backstage afterwards--yikes!
You can actually get Crazy Cat Lady Action figures now! My friend (cat lover) was given one last year, and I thought it was great. Now that you have mentioned them Rebecca, you're gonna have to post your pets.
I love the crazy cat lady! I think people actually think of me as the cat lady, but actually I am not really in to cats that much. For some reason though, I am like a cat magnet. I never adopted any of my 6 cats, they all just came to my house and never left. Those are my indoor cats. Then I have a feeding station outside for all the wild cats...those cats are so wild that you just look in there direction and they take off. They are not adoptable so I just let them be but have food and water available for them at all times. I didn't realize my other neighbors even noticed, but I have had 2 neighbors that have come over all ready to donate food to my cat charity. I keep telling them...I'm not the cat lady!...I'm not the cat lady!...I'm not the cat lady! I want to post some picture of all of us together like some dysfunctional family photo. I just got a digital camera but I haven't loaded the software on my computer and I am still trying to figure out how it works, but hopefully I'll get it together within the next few months. Thanks
