How do I get my forum to lift off and be more popular?

Hello, my forum, FPS Forums, just went public about a week ago, and I've managed to get a bit of members with a bit of posting, but not as much as I'd like. I've been doing advertising on Facebook, but that's about it. I'm willing to spend money, but I don't wanna waste it. Does anyone have any advise to market my forum and make it become popular?

Try Postloop "link in my signature" you can spend a wee bit to get people to come post each day you can set limits on the amount of post per day, you can set rules, and also you can set the rating people must have to post at your forum prices are good to, I use them.

Have you done anything in the way of on-page and off-page optimization for the search engines? Traffic is what you need, coupled with interesting new threads and active discussions within the community to tempt users to join and contribute. If you haven't already, don't be afraid to create "fake user accounts" yourself, to create and aid with early discussions- this will give the impression that you're forums are more active than they actually are, thus encouraging more registrations.

If you can allocate a budget for SEO purposes to drive traffic from the search engines, feel free to send me a PM and I will show you some of the options we have available; we specialize in organic search.

    Good luck.

Definitely try a service like the one posted above. This will give the impression that your forum has a lot more going on then it really does, which then leads to real people signing up to join in on the community.
Thats what I recommend to really get the ball rolling :D

Yea you only have to use it for like 1 or 2 months to get the ball rolling, once afew people sign up because they think the forum is really active you can slowly taper off the amount of posts per day you allow eventually to nothing.
