What is Over Optimization in SEO?

Do you know anyone detailed information about over optimization. How can we know our SEO work is going into a phase of over optimization? Is it Good or Bad? And How can we avoid it or recover from it?

 

Try to think about how 'natural' links would look if link building didn't exist.

webmasters would like to sites using a variety of anchor texts such as;

Google know if you have all of these possibilities then it is a diverse anchor text profile. I don't think there are hard and fast rules in terms of keyword % to use as the anchor text, however I am for;

• 10% Exact Match (dog training)
• 15% Variation Keyword (best place for dog training)
• 35% Related Keywords (dog collars, dog info)
• 20% Random Non Related (click here, more info, read more)
• 20% URL Variations ("dogtraining.com", www.dogtraining.com, http://www.dogtraining.com)

SEO over-optimization is not a good thing. If you are using such tactics, then stop immediately!

Head of Google's web-spam team, Matt Cutts, said in March that Google has been working on penalizing overly optimized sites for the past few months. He explained that with this, Google plans to level the battlefield so that no one has an advantage, and the top rankings are determined by brute strength, i.e. good content, rather than cunning tricks (black hat SEO). This way, sites with little SEO but good content will come up, while sites with extra SEO but poor content will go down.

Over optimization means too much SEO on a site. It can be identified, if you have or doing following things in your SEO of your site:

1. Bad inbound links
2. Cloaking and hidden text
3. High keyword density
4. Excessive interlinking
5. Improper heading structure
6. Too many redirects
7. Duplicate content
8. Pop-ups

It is bad as you may penalized for over optimization. Google’s Matt Cutts also have announced that Google is looking for over optimized sites that will get penalized.

You can avoid it by keeping following points in mind while doing SEO:

• Make every page of you site useful and kill all duplicate and redundant pages if they are avialable on your site
• Don't be a keyword stuffer
• Check out all your links, avoid Bad inbound links, Excessive interlinking, duplicate links, paid links
• Don't be crazy with ads....

Over Optimization Good and Bad for my site, wait tell you. I over optimization for my site initially then get page in a 3month, keywords in first page. After 6month i lost page rank and keyword position. So my advice is do optimize slowly, increase gradually and then continue that level.

Over Optimization mean "Over Dose". So try to optimization with white hat technique and ignore black hat.

 

A over optimization is not good health to business websites, its mean if you are using of any automation SEO tools for your work. It is possible that you will get panned by Google. But Organic ways of seo works will take some time to get a good result, but it should be standard ,So be patience & continue your work with organic

 

Over optimization relates to many different practices such as keyword stuffing, bad outbound links, too many inter linkings, using duplicate content, using doorway pages for search engine that is cloaking and improper heading structures.

 

SEO over-optimization is not a good thing. Google has been working on penalizing overly optimized sites. sites with little SEO but good content will come up.

Hi James, Over Optimization means
1) More keywords add on website
2) More submission do on website like that link building.
3) Keywords Stuffing etc..

 

Just work for your users, think how your users would get benefited, this would help of course.

Google also wants this, you don't have to do SEO, just create information for users, ranking would be decided by Google..

 

Over optimization when some specific things appear unnatural to Google, you want to make Google think other people are linking to you because they like your website... so:

• Don't get all backlinks using same keyword in anchor text (70% of time use keyword, 30% of time using something else, click here, visit my site, or another keyword/s)!
• Don't get all links pointing to the same page (so sometimes link to your blog, or some other page you have...

That is the most important of all!

If other people are linking to your website then they won't use always same anchor text in backlinks, that's why you want to follow that guideline.
