Whatever has been moving around at Google has been absolutly catastrophic for one of my main websites. My site has gone from seemingly having almost untouchable authority status to being almost worthless. We are talking from number 1s and 2s to 78's, 79's and a complete de-listing for some of my most important keywords. Has anyone else found this and what the **** can we do about it!!
erm...I dont think youre thinking straight?! Chances are if you've bombed down in the rankings, you dont want to hear the reply you are going to get.... If you've gone down then someone is going to have gone up!! Incidently I my rankings have gone nicely up in the last few days thank you!! Notting
that last post was a bit shitty wasn't it! sorry bout that. Possibly this is just a blip and youll get your rankings back (i hope so for your sake) Notting
I'm taking heart from this: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=la...=&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2005-39,GGLG:en&start=20&sa=N Surely there has to be a major problem. As if thats either acceptable or normal!
Bloody hell, that is disgusting. That isnt a regular search though is it? Regular search gives: http://www.google.co.uk/search?sour...GGGL,GGGL:2006-10,GGGL:en&q=labelling+machine Also there seems to be a massive difference in spelling differences: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...m=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=labeling+machine&spell=1
Im actually quite surprised a webmaster with such a high ranking would obviously know a lot about SEO and SEs and yet your complaining that you lost your site ranking...I guess its part of the game. Chill man work your way up again
The results i quoted where on page three. That links was for page 1. As for the other comment, don't normally panic! I ride the rough with the smooth and take the knocks with the ups, however - this is a different kettle of fish. I've been totally wiped out!!
You know sometimes I think google does this to push adrevenue, think about it, they play around with the rankings and webmasters that were getting boatloads of free traffic will turn to adwords as a "quick fix" for their traffic needs. If this happens several times you will ultimatly end up giving up SEO and stick to adwords which makes more money for google
I've thought that many times. What pisses me off so much about "SEO" is that you spend time and money on it. It works - and then they flick a switch and its all down the pan. Its a ridiclous business. All those people saying - Ooooh, you shoudn't spend money on it, you should create beautiful, linkable content, has clearly never worked for a company in the manfacturing industry. It's about as linkable as a wet weekend in Nottingham!! Grr. Grrr. lol. It appears that this data centre, http://64.233.167.99/ and one or two others are still displaying the "good" results. Here's hoping they are going to revert back, and not that these are the last data centres to catch up.
Don't feel too bad, I went from average $130/day (in adsense) to $25/day (dropped about 5 weeks ago) after 6 years of steady traffic.
For what it is worth, in my KW group a very prominent site (not mine) that is 10 years old and in the top 5 for most of those years simply vanished last week. For a few 3 or 4 word phrases, inner pages did show up, but even they were relegated to results page 2 or 3. There was no apparent issue with the site. I searched for a reason and found none. Four days later, it was back in its original position. So..... there's hope. /tom/
Maybe you should hire an SEO who can perform a non-biased analysis of your site. It could also be you have no issues and Google did a SNAFU on you, however I never see very my long term (1,2, 3+ years) front page ranking websites suffer with Google and we are talking competing pages over 250,XXX,XXX jmo
Guys, we are also experiencing pretty crazy traffic - exploding in some but dropping in others. My experience tells me that in most cases when it doesn't make sense - e.g. eBay results higher than content websites - it generally stabilizes. The only difference this year is that these data pushes are more frequent and that means by the time you see things settling there is yet another data push. I love the word "everflux."
"everflux." one of my favorite subjects... and it also can touch off a firestorm as many do not believe in it. I have sites that fluctuate between # 1 and # 2 so much I dont even check anymore lol.... the internet is really like a pulse dont you think??? living breathing changing by the minute and people act like its October 29 when rankings drop. The issue then is many feel it's Googles fault.... when the reality is most webmasters shoot themselves in the foot... with ill thought ploys of link buying, swapping, content generation, and other issues going against the historical data sets for their categories... When people learn the free lunch feed is pretty much over then they will learn how to run a business. I think they call it "smart pricing" ....I like your correlation....
