How can we improve our rankings with new Google updates?

I have just recently started a website that reviews things. I am building it up to be a big authority site but how am I supposed to improve my page rankings without being able to build back links myself? All of my pages are on page 3 of Google which is useless no one can find them to share them over Facebook or whatever.

 

Have you set up a Facebook Fanpage? How about Pinterest? Or Twitter? and so-on...

You can post those pages on Facebook yourself to your personal page, or your Business Page.

Otherwise, getting a Press Release out is a GREAT way to get started. Participating on Forums, Blogs and other like website niches to get some backlinks and exposure.

Put a link to your site in your SIG to get some more exposure and a few more backlinks.

Or, allow me to bring you all the exposure you need...

You will have to do a bit of SEO. If you are unaware, hire someone from here and they can help you get some rankings. Getting on the 1st page is important if you want people to visit your site.

without back links you are not able to increase the PR, and i will suggest you no need to work for PR you need to work to get the quality traffic for your website. If you are getting 200 per day unique visits then you need to convert it into 2002.

If you are able to doing this then sure you will get the high PR and best ROI for your business.

Build quality backlinks to your site and you will see much improvements in your SERPs.

 

You cant build back links by yourself nowadays. Has everyone not read how serious Google is taking things now? If Google gets the slightest wiff of a back link being built for SEO you will be in the gutter and they have been manually reviewing sites. Tonnes of sites have been hit big time including big names. Back linking is over hyped now and practically dead. It is only one factor out of 200 that google uses to rank a page/website. Article sites have been hit big time so the only way to generate backlinks is for other webmasters to do it at there own freewill.

Ha, you have obviously been totally misinformed somewhere about backlinking, because you clearly have no clue.

There are loads of ways to get authority links back to your site.

My advice to you is do some link building, your site clearly needs it. Buy some good links and watch those pages you said were on page 3 climb to page 1. If your contents good enough, then you will start getting natural links, social shares etc.

 

I do have a clue what I a talking about. I have seen it on the Google blog. I have seen what the Google moderators have said about link building and they say any link that you build with the intention of seo is deemed bad and up for penalty. Buying links is bad practice and breeches Google quality criteria. Social shares and natural links are up to other people I.e done at their own free will like I have said previously. So Google is really hitting hard on seo and they will catch more people out. did you know results are now personalized meaning different ppl will see different results based on their different search history making seo techniques practically redundant. Deliberate Back linking is overrated now and is a waste of time it is only one factor of 200 and will likely cause more trouble. The only way to get good rankings now is follow googles criteria and become an authority site. I.e content is King. Develop lots of high quality valuable unique content that naturally gets spread across the web which is what I'm doing.

 

Main thing is you have to adjust with fresh content and on-page optimization, this is the thing which would work now.

If you are posting fresh content regularly, it is going to help in SEO too.

 

Seems social media is playing a bigger role, more images, videos, content and of course good backlinks will help.

As for the other discussion above, you have to think some people in specific industries cannot follow google guidelines very well, i.e. having tons of content. Certain websites it does not fit naturally to have content on their business website unlike a blog. If you have a pizza shop are you supposed to have articles about pizza on your website? It would look silly as would many other industries out there.

SEO & backlinks still works because i have seen it first hand the past 6 years, they come up with these new updates and guidelines but whatever other people can do (natural backlinks) can be done artificially (meaning not work your butt off for months waiting for people to link to your site). What is easier, update your website everyday adding new content and waiting for results to happen or hire someone to speed along everything.

 

If you can't build backlinks yourself there are many freelancers you can hire from elance, guru, etc. Maybe some fiverr gigs too but be careful with those.

my sites are not getting pr0 they are ranked and a month old.
i think google crawler's are not working or because of new panda update. :/
otherwise pr0 is so easy to get

 

Your site may indeed be PR0 already it just has not updated on our end. If your site is indexed and ranked most likely it probably is PR0 just give it more time.
