Why Is Google Not Indexing Our Top Level Domain?

Our website has been live on the web for a while now. We have Google webmaster tools setup in addition to Google Analytics and Bing Webmaster Live. For some reason Google is not indexing our top level domain, but all of the subpages are indexed. Is this an isolated problem? If so, does anyone know what we can do to fix it? We have a sitemap and robots file already as well.

Here is a screenshot of the search results for quick reference.

I forgot to include the domain in my previous post. The site not being indexed is http://www.valbridge.com

It's there for me. It's likely that when google crawled your index page there was some issue with it so it doesn't have any information on it. What are your webmaster tools saying? Are they saying you have any errors?

It's also there in your screenshot, just with no description or meta title.

Thanks for the reply @coreyman Our webmaster tools account shows no errors. We also have a title and description in the meta tags of the homepage so it should be showing up in the SERPS but as you can see in the screenshot it is not.

No in the screenshot it is showing in the serps, but has no description or title for some reason.

    Iron out these issues -
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=v...(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0

Also in webmaster tools after you do that - do a fetch as googlebot.

It shows up no problem for me here in New Zealand. Number 1 for 'www.valbridge.com' and number 6 for 'valbridge'. I've had issues with personalized search jumbling results for me in the past, you may want to turn that off. You can also use site:'URL' (i.e. site:www.valbridge.com) to confirm if any given page is indexed.

Same results for Mexico. You root domain appears on #1 site. However, when you enter that Google says that you probably typed that wrong and shows results for a company called Wallbridge. The correct result is shown ONLY AFTER I say to Google "Search for Valbridge instead". This could be a problem just for my regional setting... but maybe you could find that useful.
