    Hello to all,

I have a site of 50 pages and having same h1 title in all pages.
    Can Google penalize for it?

    Please explain in brief?

H1 tag should be according to your page content and it should be user friendly.

Thanks for your reply. I got that idea from SEOMOZ.
Now total page in my website is 50. I am offering only 6 services. I can put 6 (h1) very easily. I am only confuse with other 44.

What will happen if i will put same h1 in 44 pages?

Definitely, Matt cutts said H1 tag still carry some weight for your website. Google will penalize same H1 for all pages. You make your H1 based upon your content it posses strong SEO value.

That means I have to remove h1 tags from 44 before getting penalty?

Unfortunately, yes, you should change your h1 titles. Try to paraphrase to make them unique. As soon as possible!!
And now you must check if Google has already indexed these pages with the same titles...

Each header tag should be unique to the content found on that page. If you have 50 pages all with the same content, use keyword variations and keyword strings pertaining to your industry.

It's not a good SEO strategy. Use it in HOME PAGE only with your MAIN keyword. All other pages in your website should target a different keyword, right? So, use your secondary keyword in EVERY page with H1 and only 1-2 H1 tags on a page! ;)

Agree with Patco, target different keywords on different pages, not the same on every page
