Feedback Warning received "Running Up Post Count / Post Has No Value"

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by ArMouR, Mar 18, 2013.

What exactly is this? I just got this warning. Definitely I have not been intentionally doing this but I got an email about the warning. When I go to my profile under warnings I see "Running Up Post Count / Post Has No Value" but I can't see which posts I did to deserve such a warning. Could it be because during request for jobs I reply with "PM has been sent"???

That would certainly qualify as a post with no value, so that sounds like a good guess.

Ahhh I really need to view the rules then again, is there a direct link to the rules you can point me to? Also, sometimes people tend to respond when I send them that message to check their PMs. I've also noticed a lot of other people doing it and assumed it was fine due to this. Is there are getting this warning removed over time? I don't want this affecting my rep. here

PM sent type posts serve no purpose. Recipient knows. Such posts are always subject to infractions.

Other type posts to be avoided are

    I'm interested.
    Send details.
    and
Any post pertinent only to you and thread starter.

The latter three type posts belong in a PM.

Take a look at the posting guidelines found in the FAQ.

Thank you to both of you for the responses, will the warnings eventually be removed or is this going to be a life long infraction?

They last 3 months, don't worry about it. I used to get really upset when I got them. Look at them as a warning what not to do in the future.

Different types of infractions have different lengths I believe. You should see an expiration date in your control panel where you see the infraction listed. They are nothing more than a warning and as long as you don't have 10 points of infractions (you have to really try to get that) then it is nothing other than a simple warning to alert you to a rule you obviously missed.

I think this type (useless post) is a 1 month infraction, at least in was back in 2009 when I had one.

If that is the case then you need to realize that this may affect your judgement at times. So you need to monitor it, and if you find yourself getting worked up and making undesireable judgement calls, then take some time out to relax. Control it as opposed to the other way around. Good luck to you with this.;)

I do need to control this. I sometimes just get so furstrated with a bad call in judgement. I don't know what to do sometimes other than try to forget about things. I get so scare because I bumped my head and can't think straight. I hope I can get better by Autumn.

That sounds awful for you, head injuries can take a frustratingly long time to come right. As moderators, though, we can't take into account the differing circumstances of all our forum members. Warnings accrue slowly and rarely result in an instant ban - and they expire.

He was given the right answer in the first reply. This has *always* been the rule and it has been repeated ad nauseum by the mods and by shawn every time someone asks about it. A moderator made this clear by the 4th post so I am not sure why you are still hoping the OP gets an answer. Whatever you do, don't throw another tantrum.
