It kind of depends what kind of personality your buddy has. Sometimes it's better to wait until things cool off. Most of the time just saying sorry in a proper tone works. If your buddy isn't approachable, just drop an sms or email I do that with my dad sometimes LOL. works especially when I know it will go in the wrong direction if we speak face to face.
