buying links in ebay? Your experience?

    hi,

I am pretty new to links and thought I share my experience with everyone here. i bought links from ebay entitled "176 pr4 to pr8 websites" and paid 200 for it. based on what i read from the description, I thought i get perm links in websites ranging from pr 4 to 8. after i paid, i realised i only got a pdf files with all the websites in it.

I demanded explaination and the seller insisted that i should be blamed for misinterpreting the auction. he said those links in the pdf are his precious personal database. He also said he helped his clients to get high pr by adding urls in those sites... I finally had a look at those sites, the high pr sites are actually blogs.... (can i get high pr by posting urls in blogs?). Yesterday, i saw most of the urls in his database can be found from technorati.

the matter is now being investigated by paypal who knows nothing about linking... the seller keep saying he should not be penalised and provide quotations like "item sold is not refundable", "we do not provide support after the item has been sold" and so on..., i got a feeling that paypal will side him.

    i am feeling crap now...

you guys have any good experience with link buying in ebay?

He did not mentioned that it is a 4 page downloadable pdf file. neither did he mention that that he will add my link to different websites...

he is clever with his words, he wrote it such that it seems like the auction is to buy perm links. i dont think paypal knows anything about linking, they just go by the law. the listing states that 'item sold not refundable' ...

yup, never ever buy links or site without full proof of it. i have sold many links on my site and most of the time many people asked me various question like where do u get the traffic from which country, y is this y is that and wat all and im always happy to answer those qusetion coz i feel that guy has all the right coz he is spending his hard owned money to max his site

never do ebay for links or ill sugest u to anyways ask the seller question regarding that sale and if u havent its ur fault i guess

I've been using eBay ever since is opened. You really have to be careful due to a large amount of misleading auctions. One of the ones that I found the most humorous was "Genuine Faux Elvis Autograph". Apparently, a lot of people do not know that 'faux' means 'fake'.

I bought a set of scripts one time from an eBay seler. The guy sent me a download link for the scripts. A few days later, he sent me a different link becuase several other sellers had set up auctions selling his scripts and they were providing buyers with the link to his downloads.

It appears that what you were sold could be found in any search results for free. I would call it a scam, but it all hinges on how the auction ad was worded. I don't think he will get out of a misrepresentation by stating 'item sold not refundable.'

LOL thats quite a good one :p its funny seeing the cars for sale, then at the bottom font size 1px 'This is a toy car' I feel sorry for the people that fall for it, especially paying thousands for a toy car, wonder what ebay's opinion is

You should read the description more carefully and if in doubt, ask the seller a question. Contact PayPal and I'm sure they'll side with you. Remember, that if you contact them within 5 days (I think), his money in paypal will be frozen so he won't be able to transfer them to his bank account.

Contact paypal, and they will most likely sort it out. Make sure you give them a thorough explanation of what happened.

Whenever you do business online, you have to be extremely careful. That applies to ebay and any other websites. There is fraud everywhere and the more popular a site is, the more fraudsters will join to try to scam people.

Very Simple. Call your credit card company or bank and tell them you got ripped off online and didnt get what you paid for. The CC company gives you credit for the sale, they chargeback paypal, paypal charges back the seller.

That's unfortunate .. sorry to hear it happened to you. I usually prepare a detailed list of questions about the links and websites before I purchase any links. I won't make any payment until the seller sends me back the list of questions with answers. :)

You are at one of the absolute best places on the net to purchase links - navigate over to "link sales" forum and stay the heck away from fleabay.

Agree with most responses, their are scammers everywhere! I was exchanging custom articles for text links in my niche - seemed like a fair deal as the article would take us a day to write. Within 3 months 4 out of 7 webmasters removed our links! arseholes!

That's life, you live and you learn!
