New Google Images And Traffic

Had to remove the PicShield plug-in, around 15,000 images were removed from Google in 2 days. Really disappointed as it worked brilliantly but the big G obviously don't like it.

 

Hello, how did you checked how many images were removed from google?

 

as the seo gurus in different forums said, you need to live with their rules and adopt it or else you will be penalized

 

my images not deindex when I check by site:mydomain.com
however images rank are dropping significantly , But I am not going to remove this plugin

 

If you go to Google images, put site:yourdomain then scroll as far down as you can you'll see a link to switch to basic version, in that version you get the actual number of images indexed.

 

Wow, thanks! I am also use PicShield plug-in, so i will follow whats going on with my site and inform about it.

 

Good news is my images are coming back today so it's not permanent. My traffic is way down again though, not sure what to do, Google are a pain!!

traffic dropped for me too. and my earning of course. i have one blog only with pics, so it begin to bring less money.

 

That was not because google didnt like it but becasue the timestamp stuff.

Found it interesting that the admin(s) on webmasterworld locked the thread about the google iamge search update there because their rules. They successfully prevented that people work together and plan actions there. ...yay.

That is just crazy. I mean people would really petition to take down a recent change by Google? Google is a huge company and they can do pretty much whatever they choose in regards to how they operate. Change is good, it filters out weak competition and allows those who know what they are doing to thrive.

If you are a good marketer, you should know how to grow and evolve with your market and not be stuck in your ways. People who are stuck in their ways and want everything to stay the same never grow! Instead they die out.

 

Are you still using Imaguard, noticed you said you were on the previous page. Have your images came back as you said?

 

Nope, not using imaguard since nearly 2 weeks now, i had a lot images missing from the index after because of it. Using ByREV WP-PICShield - HOTLINK Defence which works better.

 

The plugin works really good. But a few days later, I installed hatzhttp://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sexybookmarks/ plugin to my website. It has an option, you can show similar posts at the end of every post with thumbnail. But if i use both of these plugins it is just not good. Here is the screenshot what i mean. then i just uninstalled this plugin, now you can see, sexybookmarks can generate the thumbnails with out a watermark. (ps. i did not tried this plugin with another similar posts plugin, just you know) any suggestion or update with this plugin? thanks

 

I had a similar problem to that, it's because the plugin itself is hot-linking your images. Ask the creator in the support forums, he fixed mine.

You need to white-list the agent from the plugin but he found out what is was for me, no idea how though.

 

How is your traffic now? Is it better to try to change codes instead of using plug-ins? I read this post and then I'm reading comments and people who use the plug-in are losing rankings on images. Will I maintain my rankings if I take care of the 'time stamp issue'? I've been living a nightmare since Google changed its image search.
