in yahoo directory submit page , it says : " Directory will be reviewed and the Yahoo! editorial team will respond to you within 7 business days, for a review fee of only $299 ($600 for adult sites). If your listing is accepted into the Directory, there will be a $299 recurring annual fee in subsequent years ($600 for adult sites) to maintain the listing."
does yahoo directory submission make any increase in google PR? do you have any experience about this?

If I got enough cash I would. Yahoo Dir would send you more traffic than others.
Do you forget yahoo has its own SE :)

I don't think it would help much in PR,but you'll get good serp's in Yahoo in general.

Last year, I submitted one site in Y! dir, few months later it improved a lot in google, did not change a lot in yahoo. I renewed for the second year and this week I submitted another site, semi-penalized in google, I hope it gets approved and this helps my site recover in google.

I don't think so. When you get billed that $299 EVERY YEAR FOR EVERY LINK, you'll think twice, too.

If you're in the top 5 shooting for a high valued keyword or niche then absolutely. If you're NOT then spread out the cash on good directories that cost much less, then when in the top 5 submit to yahoo.

    It's that simple.

    Actually not that simple!
a single link from yahoo is much better from 100 links from alivedirectory and similar directories. If you are looking for PR that's another story. I am getting referral from yahoo dir but not that much, but still I believe it improved a lot your trust rank (even google encourages to submit to it)

    Go to google's webmaster help.

They say, 'submit to yahoo directory, dmoz and industry expert sites..........'

now I can't remember all of what it says, but it is in there.

    So google endorses it.

100 links from alivedirectory and similar directories will give you WAY more SEO benefits than a yahoo link.

Is it worth it? Well that very much depends on what your budget is, if you have a big budget then you would necessarily go for links at expensive directory sites like yahoo and botw. I would say, that if $299 represents a big part of your budget then it's worth having a real good look at some of the other directory sites like alive, aviva etc

As far as PR is concerned I think it very much depends where they put your listing. Obviously a higher category page with some PR to pass on may have some marginal benefit (but I think if you're only looking for PR then there are cheaper places to go....anyway who cares about PR)

Trustrank - this is the aspect I'm most interested in and I must admit I'd like to get some feedback from other DPers as to how/or if they have benefited from an increase in 'trust'. Also, it is undeniable that google list yahoo directory in their webmaster guidelines (however if you were them, wouldn't you like a second opinion from a real human editor rather than just an algorithmn?)

Ultimately the 'value' of yahoo directory is going to be specific to whatever site you're talking about...and you must remember that there are other well constructed directories so you have options
